Nah, it was a good post - gives us some idea of how fast the car was. Not the bit where it “felt fast” but taking down a TTRS with ease gives us a good indication. And most importantly, you gave us hope that the thing is up and running and being tested hard, it seems.
Yes hopefully we see and hear lots from the half dozen owners of the kit. I think mjackson said there were six?
Rs4per got one this week and he posts on qworld so maybe he will chime in.
I can already sense the dragstrip stuff won’t happen via him though since I think he lives in so Cal and there are no tracks within a million miles of there.
People don’t get that we are all just genuinely excited to see another kit on the scene. Forged internals and a good blower kit means a $35,000 rs4 plus a ten thousand dollar kit can see you making 500 whp in an ultra rare car that is very capable wherever it goes (strip, road course, groceries, office).
Years of broken promises and then m90 kits (vomit) and lies… It’s over finally it seems and the car is starting to kick some ass. Fun to watch.
why are we idiots? Where does he live?
Do we know everyone’s address? I was going by recollection based on his intro thread from 12 months ago. Is per a place? I thought it was his name. It’s Swedish.
Man you really are a useless little mouthpiece. You asked me how to change your username. I think I just thought of a good one for you…
Hey shit for brains…anyone who wants this kit can’t exactly mail order it. Anyway what’s the big deal. Mickf29 from your area drove to jhm for a tune and downpipes install. I’ve seen guys drive hundreds of miles especially for a beta install.
Saki please update the information thread. Data will be shared as it is gathered.
AMD / Aviva Instruments - Based on a Eaton TVS R1900. Centrally mounted in the engine with twin custom Air-Water intercoolers. 5-Axis CNC AL machined plenum & runners. Made available in two performance levels. LP [Low pressure] & HP [High Pressure]. Designed and manufactured between both companies. New High flow fuel rails manage fuel around the new plenum.
Tune: - It will available with and without software. AMD and EPL have been working closely to offer a turn key file. Customers and tuners are welcome to use the hardware as a platform for their own custom tune. The calibration and hardware has been to the track ( road coarse ) for the 2nd weekend.
Cost: - Initial release for Installation at AMD Washington or BBI in Socal has been around 10k. the LP system will not leave this price range.
Gains: - To be released. Will be done on a known 3rd party dyno.
Yes beta. It is very beta. The guy who designed it just announced that they still can’t share anything other than approximate cost of the base kit. They have one or two kits and that’s full fledged release? They have zero big boost kits.
You’re not this slow are you? Or are you just miserable? I don’t even know what those codes mean.
Edit: I know… You’re making funny of me for being a photographer? I speak other languages, have been to chef school (for fun) , and have traveled all over the world too. Well rounded. Any other jokes?
How about you? Let me guess… You’re really good with xbox, smoke a lot of weed, and live with your mom. She kicks you out sometimes, and that’s when you go to amd to pretend you’re gainfully employed. Close?
Lets keep this on topic. I know RS4Per has already been itching to take his car to the strip, so it is just a matter of our weather holding up, and his busy schedule lining up. The beta car’s owner might be in as well. All data will be posted.
Both Per’s and the beta car will be going on a 3rd party dyno hopefully this week.
Don’t ever trust email notification to be my final post. I post, then remember to add something, then correct errors from my Android touch screen typing…and it all takes about 32 revisions.
Tell AMD/Aviva to just hold back all the information and release it all at once. Much more impact that way. Get some timeslips, get your dynos, get your pricing sorted, then launch .
Death by a thousand papercuts succesfully launched no product ever. Just come out with it when you are ready.
BACK ON TOPIC! LET’S KEEP IT THAT WAY! If guys want to have e-battles and talk about B5 S4 60-130 times, either go to audizine, or go to the war room. STAY OUT OF THIS THREAD. I’m as guilty as anyone, I know. I’ve slapped myself across the face. If you were contributing to the off topic banter, do the same to yourself.
Thanks for the update Jonathan. On paper the kit looks great. Looking forward to seeing you guys flesh out the details for us, and to share some dyno, pbox and timeslip data to show the world how the kit accelerates.
I like the idea of the Aviva TVS1900 being given a shakedown on a road course. A variety of loads and speeds. I also like the strong intent for the 1/4 mile!
Jon from Aviva PM’d me asking for some info and then he sent me this link to show something else he was working on. That is a fucking EPIC launch thread lol.
mocked up pics
installed pics
dyno results (500 whp on 91?! not sure if meth)
LOTS of quarter mile results (including new records for the 370Z)
dozens and dozens of questions answered
I suggested that is what everyone in the Audi world should do with a product launch…and that it is just EXPECTED on every other car platform on the planet other than the B5 Audi S4. I hope they follow this template with the RS4 SC launch. I really do.
That 370z info is awesome. Danny is the fucking man, I’ve probably said that a million times when refering to FI, but he was a great guy to talk to and delivered exactly what I wanted with a vband flange setup so I could weld my millteks to the catback and have it look great and be leak free. Best fitting exhaust I’ve ever installed on any car, and i’ve done more than a few exhaust system installs.
