Tried to fit my old S4 wheels to my RS4 last night. I was worried about the offset not being sufficient to keep the spokes away from the calipers.
Stock RS4 wheels are 19x9.0 with an offset of ET29.
VMR 708 wheels are 18x8.5 with an offset of ET38.
From an overall offset point of view, this is the equivalent of a 15.35 mm offset difference, or about 2/3 of an inch. So I figured…10mm spacers and it might work? Well, I didn’t even get a chance to test the offset…the barrel of the wheel itself wouldn’t even get around the calipers. So…back to the drawing board.
You can see the corner of the caliper (directly below the u in the watermark)where the wheel was nicking it…

Interesting fact - RS4 OEM wheel (19x9 ET29) with Continental ContiSportContact3 tire in 255 35 19 96Y XL weighed in at 51.4 lbs. That’s really not that bad…that means the wheels only weigh around 25-27 lbs (tire rack says that tire weighs 26…and my scale may not be perfect, so 25-27 is a good guess). I was thinking they’d be closer to 31.

Man 18s looks REALLY small on this car…

Looks like I’m going to have to stick with 19s…so I’m on the lookout. Preferably another set of stockers as I think they just look perfect. Ti package would be great in case you know someone selling. Still need to do a proper photoshoot with this thing. These are all blackberry pics.
