RS5 is nice and all but I dont think there is room for improvement. Going to be like the E92 M3s where you have to bore/stroke and sleeve the engine for more power.
Why’s that? I would think it’s similar enough to the RS4, which benefits greatly from tune + exhaust. And possibly, like saki was saying, a candidate for an easy blower upgrade.
Why is that? Loads of room for improvement on the RS4 (B7). I reckon you’ll see an RS5 in the 11s with tune and full exhaust. JHM hopefully steps into the platform in a couple of years.
The engine should be able to handle 550+ wheel horsepower bone stock, so the supercharger options will be potentially awesome (unless the tuning sucks)
Alright I understand that, however with such an exclusive market would JHM put in the R&D to get it done?
I keep hearing that N/A motors dont get anything from tunes because all you can do is mess with timing. Hopefully JHMs tuning servers go up so I can get that tune and then really know. Planning on having streamline put my car on the dyno pre-JHM (currently GIAC) and then after the tune and then get the maps
I saw this car at the dealer today while I was dropping my car off to get the window regulator fixed. I wanted to go take it for a test drive but my ride was in a hurry. This thing is so sick. Wish I had an extra $70k lying around to buy one.
I think so. The black on black/silver example I saw at Audi Centre Oakville yesterday was simply the toughest looking car going.
There was a woman letting her 4 or 5 year old boy dick around in the drivers seat of it while I was in there. A car stickering at close to $90,000. You gotta wonder.
Here’s my first sighting “in the wild,” passing over QEW up Winston Churchill
They do what?? There I was thinking car salespeople had a tough enough job as it was, without also encouraging customers to not like their cars while on test drives…
I know they would have let me, in fact it was their idea. Who buys a $70,000 car without test driving it? I don’t think they throw a governor on the car around here but they won’t just let somebody test drive it alone, the salesperson will go along for the ride. Maybe if I was some 16 year old kid rocking basketball shorts and a t-shirt I could see them not letting me test drive it. However, I live in a relatively wealthy area so if salespeople are denying test drives they are most likely missing out on a sale even if it’s a 16 year old kid. For example, when I was in high school my one buddy at 16 had a brand new Denali with 26s, a brand new WRX STi pushing 650whp, and a brand new Lamborghini Murcielago.

Is he still alive? out of the slammer? does he have a license?
Fuck me I remember vividly the maniac I was behind the wheel of my parents 205bhp Camaro at 17. Fucking MANIAC. Triple the car’s horsepower - if it’s a true story that kid did not go through that experience unscathed.

Believe it or not the kid never crashed one of his cars but he did get rear ended riding his Ducati 998 once, although that was because he was pulling onto a 55mph street too slow and cut somebody off. The other funny thing was he’s only had a couple tickets in his life because the cops were so amazed with how cool his cars were they always gave him warnings.
Yeah the thing was absolutely insane. He never even drove the fucking thing stock. As soon as he bought it, he immediately did an engine swap and strapped some insane turbo to it, added direct methane injectors, a Brembo GT BBK, headers, exhaust, and just about anything else you could possibly imagine. By the time the car was done I think he had about $80,000 into it. Then what’s even crazier is he drove it for like a year maybe, put hardly any miles on it, and then sold it for like $40,000. That’s the kind of childhood you get though when you are the only son of the owner of Billet Specialties http://www.billetspecialties.com/.
I just stopped by my old dealership and they had a red RS5 out front in the rain with everything you can get. The sticker was just over $87K and I am wondering why anyone would want all that. Have to admit the red with Ti package looked fantastic!
