I’d get it in Ibis White with Nav, wheels and sport exhaust. $74,450 for that.

Ask for $5,000 off + partner discount. Around $69,000.

Before people say the M3 starts at $60,000 and is much cheaper, don’t forget the M3 comes with nothing. To get heated seats and carbon and sat radio and leather and nice wheels and nav and DSG etc. you have to pay a fuckton. You end up with an M3 that costs, ironically…

The BMW has audicare included (which costs about $700) but really the cost argument is a toss up. When edmunds or someone road tests the RS5 vs. the M3, prepare for the RS5 to have ceramic brakes and end the M3 to be a stripped car, with the RS5 being $15,000 more expensive. Funny, Car&Driver the BMW lovers estimated the RS5 price at like $90,000…which cost the RS5 5 points vs. the CTSv and 3 vs. the m3. Fucking jackasses.

That’s a lot less that I thought it would be. I would have thought it would be around 75-80 base price. The RS4 back in 07 was 69+gas guzzler tax.

+$4000 for auto lights/auto wipers/dimming mirrors/sunshades/RNSe (Premium)

dammit, the only one out of that group I’d want is the dimming mirrors

…or is that for the RS4 pricing?

that was the rs4 premium package

auto lights/mirrors (related) are nice. Auto wipers are alright too.

They have hit the states… Beautiful car!

Yeah I saw a BUNCH in Europe last month. They look and sound fantastic. My dealer has one that I may go check out.

Yeah will see more of them soon… Looking forward to seeing one in person… Little bummed they don’t have the cf look engine cover and they could have throw in nicer oil and antifreeze caps to enhance the engine look…

Do you know if the dsg is the same as the s4 or is it an upgraded model? Can’t wait to see what it runs this fall…

the RS4 has CF engine covers. Not CF look either. Real CF.

Because they’re CF, they yellow over time because of the heat. Pretty much unavoidable. That’s likely why Audi ditched them.

I don’t look at the engine much, so frankly, I could take them or leave them.

As for the DSG, I don’t know, but I do know that it launches from something like 5000 rpm.

Here’s a nice Ibis RS5 I spotted while I was at Buckingham Palace, followed by a very tough looking example I saw in Zurich.

Gotcha… figured Audi may use something else that looked like CF so that it didn’t yellow… Nice to know… I hear you on not looking at the engine much but it is still cool when the engine looks like a piece of art, at least that is how I feel… I am sure someone will come out with CF or CF look covers over time anyway… Yeah really curious about the DSG… Here is a LC vid that was posted on that other forum…

I’m going to test drive one and do a battery of pbox tests. Will be interesting. I’ll wait till it’s not 95 degrees though, to give the RS5 a fighting chance at putting up some good numbers.

Saki, That would be awesome but I agree wait until the weather is more conducive… It has been 90+ here for the last few weeks… I know someone is going to go soon and run a 12.7-8 and people will be like it’s a slow POS but not consider the conditions… I want to see what the RS5 runs in 50’s with a decent/great DA… My guess, if the power numbers are legit is 12.4ish…

I haven’t been to the strip in over a month because of the weather and they have had events so I don’t like sweating all day only to make a pass or two… I may go Sunday as it is a TnT and should be low 80’s… I want to log my IAT’s, timing and boost… Also, curious as to what I run… Probably very low 12 but hoping to run 11.9x in the heat… Will see… If I go I’ll post the results…

Will be interesting. There was one in Australia that went mid 12s stock on a couple of runs. Haven’t seen much else.

For an experiment, I took my RS4 in the heat a couple of weeks ago just to see how bad it could be vs. cool weather. I went full weight, bone stock and I even made sure to have shitty 91 octane gas in the tank. The goal was to see how bad I could make the RS4 run to get a benchmark for a truly terrible RS4 quarter mile time.

Temperature was around 85 degrees for DA 2500 feet
I ran straight away after arriving after a 40 mile drive. Oil temp was 107 Celsius (225 fahrenheit).
1/4 tank of 91 octane piss
mediocre launch (mid 1.9 60’)

Car ran 13.3 @ 106

So if anyone runs slower than 13.3 @ 106 in a B7 RS4, they need a driver mod, their car is hurt, or they’re in Denver, because that’s about as bad as it could be. Later I put in some 100+ octane to mix out to around 100 and ran 13.0-13.1 but only 1 or 2 passes. I was shocked that it helped that much. Launches were also mediocre. Place was busy and just wasn’t worth beating on the car…I just wanted that first 91 time and to see the gap between 91 and 100.

I would bet a stock RS5 will run 12.5 with good conditions and closer to 13.0 with the heat. I believe Motor Trend or C&D had it at 12.4, but not at a strip…just a flat runway with their pbox/vbox. Not the same.

Here is a supposed 12.37… Killed a revo b8 also… ;)~

Russian too so it must be true!

Richi…translation?

P.S. Rs5 had a decat and catback

LOL! Yeah, I think it was tuned as well…

My friend that works at a dealership just texted me a pic of an rs5 badge saying “look what we just got in”. Hoping to head there on my lunch break and take it for a spin ;D

Not sure I buy those times, but if they are accurate that is pretty impressive…

The screen times are useless but if he compares screen times to screen tunes it is ok. Anyway the short times aren’t that great. Have tsivas ask Arin for the file to confirm what it really did.

Funny to watch 3.0t guys in that thread trying their hardest to not like the RS5. Calling it a fail etc.

Wait till they put the 1900 on it and make an easy 550 to the wheels without breaking a sweat while the 3.0t guys are wondering why their rods keep turning to spaghetti without an engine build…and that engine build cost gap will be not far from the s to Rs price gap.
