Has the RS6 been discontinued in saloon variant, can’t see any info at Audi website?
If so, presumably the RS6 C6 could become a bit of a collectors piece.

Well there was a c7 Rs6. I seriously doubt it is discontinued, as the demand was pretty good across the pond.
too close to the RS7 so I doubt they think there is any point
I agree. I dont see the point. The RS6 in the link above looks like its got an RS7 powerplant. So whats the point. I like the wagon idea but now you can get an RS6 RS7 and S8 all with the same motor and same power output. Seems a bit of a waste to me. I liked the crazy RS6 modles of old. What happened to the crazy V10 TT RS6. I always felt the RS6 was the Audi mad science car but with this it seems to have dropped that theme
This is the same thing I was thinking, but the costs associated with getting an RS6 engine here and installed, plus the $20k cost for body panels… seems like a project post-lotto winnings lol… that’d probably end up being a $100k build, but may be worth it if you upgrade the engine before installation. They have some out there over 1000awhp…
There was never a saloon (sedan) version of the C7 RS6 - Avant only.
Bingo. Which honestly also didn’t make sense. Why not sedan only and then you have the rs7.
Although I think the cargo room of the Rs6 is a little larger and the rear headroom is better. I think the c6 Rs6 avant sold pretty well there too
I have yet to see an saloon variant of the c7 rs6, i dont think you are correct here, last was c6.5
Someone needs to make a turbo or S/C solution that’ll bring the US S6’s up to Euro RS6 standards. Seems like a waste that no one has gone for 700-1k hp yet. Not saying that I’ll be the one to finance it or be the guinea pig, but just saying… someone should do it, so the kits can be made and prices can drop to something reasonable.
Trunk-mounted turbo kit anyone?
I realized after just over a year of ownership that there is just not much room for power growth in the c6 s6. Probably the main reason you dont see that many. If you want to go turbo setup could you not just import an engine/gearbox/ecu setup from Europe and fit it to your s6? For that money you could have a c7 s6 which has so much more potenitial. Yes you loose the “amazing” v10 sound etc but you gain a much quicker, modern, prettier car.
That 4.0 TFSI is the best platform they have brought out to date, finally the got it right!
Yeah I thought about the import option because I found a reasonably priced engine and turbo upgrade kit. Buuuut no one to confirm that they can/will do it for a reasonable price. Yeah, getting a C7 at the higher price may be simpler but yes, the loss of the V10 (with exhaust) is generally worth more to me. It’s pretty much what makes the car something special versus just another sedan with a high powered engine. I may be too passionate about the V10 sound but every time I’ve come across a newer S6 on the road, I felt like they made it much much less special. Maybe I need to see/drive one with loud harmonic exhaust, full carbon package, and 650+hp to change my mind lol…
with that said, I hit 100+mph way too quickly on the road already, so another 200+hp could end up being a waste lol… ah well… time will tell…
Yeah I was passionate about the v10 for the last year alright. Rare car over here .Maybe two in the country and always turned heads. But no one knew much about them. Not many garages would offer with service or even have the parts available. Heat soaks like a bitch and you need to rev the nuts off it to get the usable power band
The s6 in my opinion was just the preview model to the rs6. A year later the rs6 was realeased and proved a very popular platform the s6 got kicked to the kerb! I could have gotten an c6 rs6 instead of the a7. But wanted something newer and cost effective to run for a daily driver and has a more usable power band.
I’m glad I can say I owned a v10 but not something that would have worked long term for me.
Yeah definitely understandable on the long term and I forgot that you’re not hear in the states with infinite options for maintenance, etc. An A7 definitely sounds like a safer bet for the everyday driver considering the age difference and range that comes with TDI.
