The Audis have a bigger front fender ‘hole’ for the wheel which gives the impression of it being higher than the rear.
Since we already own nose heavy cars, the dynamics of dropping just the front might not be ideal, as it would in theory dump more weight on the front of the car and promote understeer. Not sure how accurate that is, but I’ve heard it bandied about a lot.
The guys who get suspension tend to ‘equalize’ front and rear wheel to fender gap, doing just what you said, so while it may actually be dynamically retarded (or maybe not retarded…maybe just a little slow or special ed), it is VERY common.
