S6 vs. A6 inner CV joint

Hey,

Been looking to replace both inner and outer CV joints on my S6 Avant C6 (4F5) while keeping the original CV axle which is in good condition still. While the option for the outer CV joint is reasonably decent, the problem arouse when looking at options for the inner joint. The original OEM joint runs somewhere in the $400 range, which seems steep.

ETKA tells me the oem part number for the inner joint is 4F0498103 on the BXA engine, while all other 4F5 cars use a joint assembly with number 4E0498103. It seems in fact that the only two models that are running anything but the E version is the S6 and RS6.

Do you guys have any pointers on replacing inner CV joints on the S6? Any OE/third-party part that you know will fit?

Cost wise you usually see people just replace the entire shaft. Interesting information tho. I wonder if the A6 part would have a different make up and strength rating due to the lower output.
