S7, stage 1, 93 octane, full weight... 1/4 mile predictions.

We’re seeing 6 to 7 ms injection times on 100 oct Stage II B8 S4 as it is…consider that at 7000 rpm a revolution takes 8.5 ms.

With the stage III blower coming soon, I can sure as hell bet they have injection solutions by now…but what it is…is anyone’s guess. Wonder if anyone figured THAT into the cost of stage III.

Does direct injection log in duty cycle%?

It’s in ms on the B8 S4…yeah so E85 is out, you’d have to fuel for more than one revolution (!)

Just realized the 4.0 TFSI is a Bosch setup which likely means golf R (TTS, etc) injectors will likely fit. Lots of headroom there.

I’m just not sure of another Siemens application that needs higher flowing injectors. I’d imagine going with an higher HPFP could gain some headroom.

Yeah, hmm, I wonder if Siemens has any other 4 cyl hi-output cars… I wonder if you could retrofit Bosch in…? I know nothing of direct injection so school me please!

I don’t know much either, asides from that:
-the injectors between Bosch and Siemens look physically different
-on the 3.0 TFSI, as far as I can see we’re out of room for much more power, was assuming APR had something in the works
-The 4.0 TFSI likely has higher flowing injectors or can borrow from other Bosch platforms, so E85 should be possible.

I was mistakenly thinking that the injector “solution” Arin was talking about would be common to both platforms, but then realized this car is Bosch…

Either way an E85 tune would be nice, except we don’t have any stations that carry it…:frowning:

It’s using a hitachi setup. The bosch pumps look like this:

As far as Bosch, Hitachi and Siemens goes for Injectors, Pumps and ECUs, VAG mixes and matches them all. It’s not always a 1 shot for everything (IE, it’s not always bosch, or always siemens for each component).

Nice info…! …but those golf R/TTS injectors look physically different than the Siemens…I’m assuming fueling will be an issue on some platforms in the near future…

The Golf R and TTS use HDEV 1 Bosch injectors. They are extremely old compared to everything else out there now. In comparison, our Golf MK6 Stage 3 injectors are HDEV 5 Bosch Injectors. : )

Looks like an S6 with unitronic beta tune hit the strip… I talked a bunch with him when the B8 S4 first came out as he was holding out for a Unitronic tune on that and kept waiting and waiting and waiting…

Anyway, claims to have run a 11.82 at 117.xx

Hopefully, we will see more vids/slips/times from these cars as the season progresses and more strips are open… I reckon will see some fast times this fall once more people mod and hit the strip… Hopefully, I can keep up in my 6-banger ;D

Good to see people taking 194" long $100,000 luxobarges to the dragstrip with 4 rings on the grille. That was primarily reserved for Mercedes Benz CLS/E/S owners in the past.

I wonder if they ever had one of these in house. I actually always wonder that about rather “exotic” cars as typically most would shoot and share photos of said cars if they did.

Never thought abkut that…quite the point you made…if they dont have them in house how do they tune them then… I assume you cam maybe make a very generic tune even without seeing a car

That would make sense based on the lack of info. Seems sketchy for someone with this nice of a car to run a generic untested tune though.

There’s never much info about unitronic tunes outside of a couple forum trolls who say “switched from xxx tune and never looked back” and their sales rep(s). I’ve tried looking into deets on them for a few platforms and didn’t find much. Talking with them didn’t yield much info either.

Exactly, unitironic advertises in strange ways.
