Sad but true? They seem pretty happy actually! USP VR6 turbo video

Looks like they’re all up to snuff with their safety equipment. :o

Anyone know what transmission they use?

Pretty sure Chris runs stock gears and 26" tires. I was talking to him about this over the winter and I believe he probably has to rev somewhere around 8500 turns to trap that fast with stock gearing and 26’s. He changed a bunch of stuff. New manifold, new haltech platinum ecu, upgraded his turbo to a 6766, took a lot of weight out including a lot of the factory wiring, a drag wing, etc… That car is moving out for sure… I only expect to see him go faster in it. I can’t wait to finish my car… I was thinking about going down to florida with it in the fall maybe. Be nice to get some side by side passes with that car after I sort out my car. He’s definitely working hard and sticking with it. The changes I’m going through right now, similar to his, has brought my stress levels to an all time high. I keep trying to convince myself it will all pay off. lol

It must be a whole different level of build once you get into this the big power…I can’t even imagine.

oh my, that is very fast. 9.7@153 wtf?!

I’d love to know what power they make with that car to compare out to some of the other big power builds

I love it.
runs 9.9
nah it’s got more in it.
runs 9.7
Epic video.

Thread title is misleading, I was waiting for a crash.

lol no, the Metallica song ‘Sad But True’ was playing the whole time. Or some ripoff of the riff.

If they did crash, at least they would have had a roll cage and a chute!

Really impressive… I hope to see Justin’s car locally do something similar!

For that car to be exhibiting magic like that, I would think it to be putting down something in the family of 800wheelhorsepowers

800 whp = 1400 eplwhp

wow that car is impressive… On a asad note there was a crash and fatality at the track i always run at… Seen the dude on dozens of occasions, very sad… Risk we all run racing… Be safe everyone…

It is making over 800 whp. Custome rear end but and s4 gearbox.

I think Chris said he made somewhere in the area of 825-840 whp on a dynojet last tuning session. Still running E85 also. The weight reduction sure helped out… The car is fucking moving out for sure with 153 mph trap. My first goal is a 9.99 or better, after I hit that, depending how long it takes and how well everything holds up, we’ll see how far I am willing to push it. I have another motor that I’m piecing together slowly. I’ll be building it over the winter hopefully, I can’t release any details yet, I’m not 100% sure on the route I’m going. I have an R32 crank sitting here though, I don’t think I’m going to be using it though. Might have a few cranks made for that motor, trying a different route. I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated when I get to that. First is tuning this motor, I don’t plan on pushing it very hard like I do with the next motor. I’m interested in a solid tune, and a nice band.

Gosh, what a bummer. I will definitely be praying for the family. Primetime, I would really like to meet up with you just to hang out and get a beer even. I love B8s and I would love to see yours. Would you like to meet up early July in MI?

[quote=“tweetss4estate,post:15,topic:3548”]
Yeah I hear you… As for heading up to MI, it’s a possibility… Would need to know the specifics… Wife and I have a wedding one weekend in July and she has an event another weekend where I’ll have to watch my son… I would want to do some racing if I come up as well… I know Hunter mentioned renting a track in the fall so maybe we just wait for that as I’ll have much less going on… Keep me posted though… later Ron
