I’ve been reading for a while now and figured i would take a break from zine and post here… The information on this board is very valuable… Keep up the good work…
Also, Count Vohn, Thanks for spending the time with me on the phone and going into great detail about our Tune… I have replied back to JHM and asked them to forward you the email. Looking forward to the Beta program and keep up the hard work!!! We all appreciate it!
Welcome. I want pics of your car too. I always take a little extra time looking at your avatar on AZ wondering what it would look like if the pic was bigger than a stamp.
screw you, change your name or ban hammer, there can only be one maddog!
Jk, great looking car, and I’m very jealous of the alcantra lining. Did you do that yourself? I kinda want to do it in my trunk (and interior) but don’t want to deal with it. I love the E39 M5’s with the suede tool liner like that.
And hey, we have the same head unit as well! Joe might also have it (he’s got a pioneer, but most sure which one). I don’t know if I dig the steering wheel though, it’s intense and am sure it’s something else to behold in person.
IRRegardles, welcome to the forum and great car. That’s some major lip ya got there, I think more than any other Audi I’ve ever seen. I love a good fat rear lip like Lambo’s usually run, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them on the front like that, usually b/c of difficulty finding a setup that’ll work. I don’t want to think about the time spent cleaning/polishing them though!
Saki, Apat’s & lqmeh aren’t working for me, but mine has always worked in my browser (including in this post, :ninja: edit).
As for the Alcantera, yes i did my self and it was a PITA!!! took me a Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday but everything is done and by the end my fingers were almost raw! I used ultra suede and i did the pillars, whole roof, rear deck and sides where the seat belts are… door panels are next and sportster cs seats too… I was going to do the trunk but after the abuse my hands took i decided to dye the entire trunk black to match the carpeting inside the car, it came out awesome… I also changed the lights in the trunk to L.E.D’s and added in a L.E.D bar to shine a bit more light… ill take pics tonight for you guys to see.
As for the wheels i was on a hunt for MEGA dish or MEGA concave, i realized to get deep concave i would need to fork up a decent amount of cash so i gave up on that idea and ford the dish… I have 4 inches of dish all around, the only issue is that the front wheels needed bigger spacers to clear breaks so the tires stick out a little from the fender (My fix to this is to go with custom metal fab’d fenders all around so i can run the car lower and more flush, Car goes into the shop this weekend for the project along with having my KW v’3’s rebuilt, I’ll post pics of the project as it moves along)… please don’t remind me about cleaning lol it sux!!
As for the head unit, i love it i came home one day and it was sitting on my bed, random gift from the g/f… I did the VIM mod to it and it works amazing with Netflix. I just finished purchasing the rest of my audio stuff so it should all be in by spring (custom side mount sub box in trunk and blah blah blah)
Steering wheel was custom made also another gift from the g/f… I wanted to get the RS4 flat bottom but wanted to make sure my airbag was functioning, then i thought about getting the non-multi function wheel but i didn’t want to give up the multi-function feature. So custom steering wheel it was… Carbon fiber tops and bottom, ultra suede to match and red stitching to match interior lights. The picture doesn’t do it justice looks insane in person, the thumb grips makes all the difference. (I’ll be at Waterfest and H20 so if you make it out there check it out)
damn i need to shut up now…
Glad to be here guys!!! and thanks for the support!!
Thanks!!! I’m holding on to the source for now until the next upcoming shows :), but i will give some details… They can make it any style you want with any material including brushed aluminum (depends on how deep the pockets are)… It takes them about 5 weeks to make depending if they need to source the steering wheel or you send in the core… the price is based on options so it can range from 1k to 2k, mine was some where in the middle…
it was an awesome spot but took forever to get in… huge holes, big pointy pieces of crushed stone… wish i could of gone in deeper to the abandoned section awesome graffiti but i would of had to cross huge track lines and i way to low to make it in… (If i had bags i would of monster trucked it)!
