Second whip yo

Thinking about getting a weekend car. Just want something under $5000 that is fast, either v8 or turbo. Any thoughts? I have been out of the older car scene for quite awhile. The easiest thing I thought of was an older mustang but I don’t really like mustangs.

define fast

You can make an old chevy pretty fast for 5k.

moving or capable of moving at high speed.

lol. Something that could hang with a c63.

Like what jake?

Find a nova or el camino for a grand.

Spend the remaining 4k on:

Jegs/summit headers for $200
AFR/World/Dart/Brodix Heads for grand ±
Agressive street cam -$250-350
Holley/Edelbrock carb - $300-500
Intake Manifold - $250-350
Vortech supecharger kit - 2k

Might go a little over your budget but you can find the right parts in for cheap if you look hard enough.

Jake not all of us live in sunny snow free California. If you find a nova out here for a grand. It’s all rust.

Haha, yea most anything for 1000 is rusted out here. I think I might be better off just buying an already built car… or upping my budget, I think it might be a bit unrealistic from what I’ve found so far.

Crap, forgot about that stuff called snow.

Buy a 240sx for a couple grand and buy an RB26 and swap it in!

Dr!ftC4R

I used to have a 240sx! It was gold with a tan leather interior. Traded it for my eclipse.

Nice! I had a 95 S14 that I beat the absolute crap out of. That thing ran like a champ!

don’t play around with that foreign shit, if you want a swap go for an LSx

Yea LS swaps are pretty popular right now in the 240 scene. You can get a swap kit too for fairly cheap and pickup an LS out of a wrecked Tahoe with the harness and everything for like 500 bucks. Then just upgrade the intake manifold etc…

damn your 240 was nice, mine was only a 93. They have a bad rep around here for being owned mostly by 19yr old drift kings.

Yea lots of info for an LS swap! That would be an interesting way to go

What do you guys think of this? It seems like a really good deal…

I’d like to see some more pictures. Still that looks like a great deal. Given the power output of those older Chevy motors there’s a good chance you’d be faster with your current car.

Darn, well that defeats the purpose lol. He sent interior pics and an engine running pic. Fully restored interior, looks brand new.

It’s hard to find definitive performance info on these older engines. I just want “this part + this part on this motor = around this 1/4 mile time”
