It was at the Jewel in the West Loop. Big parking lot, which was almost empty at 10 p.m. Yet this big shot M6 guy needed two spaces lol. I should have taken a wider pic.

I think they are doing military drills down here again. I’ve seen a Blackhawk and Chinook flying low along the shore in the past half hour or so. Going to try and snap some pics.

Wonder what’s going on. We’re not due for another G8 summit or anything, right?
When the wind blows the right direction, we’ll get P3’s, Ospreys, and Seahawks fly over our house. Naval airport is almost 10 miles away, but they fly a few hundred feet off the ground. I’ve waved to pilots before. Only a handful of times after dark, and never after 10PM. Pretty cool.

I was staying at a friends cottage in muskoka a couple of years back and Obama arrived at the little airport 2 kms away in his two monster helicopters at about 1am. Holy fucking shit . It was insane. I thought they were on the roof of the cottage.
Blackwater’s training facility used to be near a relative’s lake house. Chinooks would dive crazy low over the water and then swoop back up at the last second. They definitely enjoyed scaring the shit out of people on the lake. Really cool stuff to watch.
Air show this weekend. Blue Angels and an F22 will be there. Pretty excited for that.

I absolutely love fighter jet passes at airshows.
I don’t understand how anyone can not get excited about low altitude fighter jet passes. There will be a Harrier as well.

It’s a pretty awesome aircraft. It will also eventually take the place of both the F18 and Harrier.
I really need to see one fly in person.
They’ve been doing some practice today. Couple flyovers by the Angels. Hoping for some more this afternoon.

I can’t necessarily explain why but if I saw military aircraft that close I’d go into a panic.
