Hey Guys…
I’m shopping for seats and have a few questions. By ditching the stock recaros and going with something that doesn’t have airbags in the seat (sportster cs or similar) I’m sure i will get an airbag light in the dash. Does this mean i will loose all airbag function ability including steering wheel?
any details would be appreciated…
From what I understand you should only lose the airbag functionality in the seats themselves. IIRC people have been able to splice a resistor or something into the euro RS4 seats that do not have airbags so they don’t get the airbag error. I’m sure someone will chime in about that and correct me if I’m wrong.
BTW, if you are going with sportser CS you might want to consider these two tone euro RS4 skins this guys selling:
re-skinning a set of sportser CS’ with these=money

When the airbag light is on, all of the airbags are disabled. You will need to wire in a resistor to fool the system.
Or…I have always wondered if you can code the system to not look for them. The euro rs4 obviously doesn’t have them, and I bet coding is the only thing keeping the light off
I was wondering the same thing on the coding… im 100 positive of a resistor but would prefer the coding… here’s a link to some one who wired in a resistor just, looks like the whole process may take a while to complete…
