Fixed to the grill with heavy zap straps, I know of 6 - 7 cars running this setup locally for 3 - 4 years with no issues.
I live in a front-plate-required state but fortunately they don’t really enforce it, in my experience. I figure I’ll deal with it if/when I get a fix-it ticket, until then I’ll enjoy my naked front-end.

Audi corporate eventually sent it out to whomever I ordered it from and they shipped it over to me… the diffuser is probably just as hard to find (if not harder) since it was double the retail price. Doubt I’ll spring for the grill pieces since it seems they’re going to be almost full price. Of course now I can’t find the link to the original thread listing the part numbers and pictures taken at Audi museum.
Long story short… every dealership everywhere will tell you that they can’t get the part…
Man, in your position I’d be tempted to do the grill and mirror covers too. Especially with your color. Sexeh AF!!
Yep, I already got the carbon fiber OEM grill. It’s on the way… So are a set of smoked side markers and bumper/fender lights. The mirrors, I’ve been debating for awhile, but I think I’m going to leave them the same for now since it’s one of the few obvious indicators that it’s an S6 vs a normal A6… I’ll reconsider after I get all of the other stuff on I guess. Got the trim piece installed last night when I got my taillight replaced, and will post more pics later.

Found some CF OEM grills for a reasonable price:
Main point is that I didn’t pay the full price of $1k+ per grill…
i was interested in these until i saw tobn he price $700+ for the trunk carbon strip! Those oem grills though, ill order a set of them for sure!
What you need to find next is a front spoiler that will fit our s6 bumpers similar to the rs6 one!
Yes so steep lol… but I looked at it like I just saved myself $700 by getting it on discount vs dealership price (although the dealerships couldn’t help me) lol…
I’d been looking for a splitter, but couldn’t find anything reasonable that was CF and a solid/OEM fit… Seems like there just wasn’t enough demand vs the RS6 crowd in Europe… I’ll let you guys know when/if I find something that matches well
How is that part secured to the trunk? I would be tempted to removed it if possible and get it carbon dipped/covered, it looks really good, and and yours is similar color to mine:
I had mine gloss black and it was a bit too much
The trim piece has multiple clips throughout the rear face as well as an adhesive (for good measure). The chrome strip was a bitch to remove without bending, so i’m guessing that this would be a PITA to remove as well…
Probably the same as the window trim, you can get it off but will probably bend, snap something in the process. Thats why i got mine wrapped a few months back, but the gloss didnt suit that trim piece
Sounds about right. The owner of my shop got it off clean using those plastic dash removal kit tools with some time and effort though.
Some of the smallest cosmetic parts can make such a big difference
