ya and quite a few other goodies. ill post up soon ;D
The real nice add is the intake. It will really blend well with all the mods you have.
You asked me about the top end with the new heads; I had an impromptu run the other day where I was in the top end range and it was a holyshitballz moment!!
A 2.5RS was riding my ass for a good few miles on our way to a local mountain resort so when the car in front of me FINALLY moved over to open up the road, I dropped down a gear and gunned it; I was currently at 75mph at roughly 2900rpms (by the way, if I didn’t say it before the JHM LWFW plus Stage4 clutch/PP is amazingly awesome to rev-match and drop gears) and just pulled away. About a few miles down the road, I run into more road traffic so I slow down and ride with the flow. The 2.5RS pulls up next to me, downshifts and like a jackass, recklessly weaves in and out of the traffic.
Once the road cleared again about two miles later, I see the 2.5RS moving along the long empty stretch so I gunned it to catch up. At about 90mph, I switch over to his right and down it to fourth which puts me somewhere in 5000.
In 4th, maxed out at ~7000 and began to pull away at end of range
In 5th, redlined out all the way to ~7200 (145+?); 2.5RS was a ways back
In 6th, before I cut it off, I was somewhere in the 6000 range at 155+?
TL;DR -
top end feels INCREDIBLY strong! i began to pull away from the 2.5RS by the end of fourth gear and 5th gear from 5500?-7200 was just beastly
You have to love that the 2.5RS isn’t a bad car either.
If you don’t have the intake yet that will really help make the upper RPM go by faster. Nice kill
Its a great car and I think he had some mods on it; could only hear the exhaust when he downshifted.
Both cars had 2+ passengers and snow gear; I had two plus me, 2.5RS had driver plus pass.
Both cars had a long straight two lane divided highway.
Both cars were cruising along at ~80.
He held strong until I reached the end of fourth, fifth was when I really started to pull away but ya, definitely a nice kill on my end. We ended up parking in the same lot at the snow resort and I noticed that he looked over at the Avant with this “ha, this MFer was the driver?”
Awesome story. You make me want to head the heads now…ugh.
Since the above fun run, I’ve had a few maintenance related gremlins:
Crank position sensor - ended up not being the issue but I have a new sensor, yay
Clutch starter switch - ended up not being the issue but now I can start the car without engaging the clutch…Audi decided to update the switch with a VW product, go figure.
Fuel pump - ended up being the issue even though the pump is barely a year old
Anyways, to the nitty gritty, I picked up these from Jimmy since he upgraded to the V2s:

He ended up getting parts from BCSniper.

What issues were you having that changing the fuel pump fixed?
Headers installed and how they sound…

3rd gear pull into 5th; let off because of speed and “safety”

24 3/4 all around
She pulls! I have a video of her on the way home, doing “highway speeds” closing in on a certain limiter number and that was at middle 5th gear before I let off…imagine seeing that three digit figure and letting because you felt satisfied with the results that got you there!
Jimmy can attest to what I was pulling while we drove around the interstate earlier that night, to make sure things were good before I went home. Haha, he even looked over to make sure he saw what he saw
Car wouldn’t start. It happened after I drove her that morning into Maryland and then drove her back home to VA; was nothing more than 45min drive (about 30 each way). I parked her that morning upon return, went to start her up again to pick up my kid that afternoon and nothing.
It would crank and crank but no ignition, I originally ruled out fuel pump because it was barely a year old and it seemed like fuel was being pumped but something wasn’t allowing the spark. I concluded it was the CPS because of the symptoms but it turned out to be the fuel pump after a shot in the dark guesstimate. It took me three weeks to figure out but ya, fuel pump just went.
Once again, major props to Jimmy for doing the legwork with the installation and fabrication…
Good stuff slow. Greet to see another headerwagon
What catback do you have?
Thank you Sir.
FI CB with 14" resonators; I like loud but not obnoxious loud.
There’s seems to be a good handful of header wagons. I’m wondering what the ratio of sedans vs. Avants with headers is. I’m also thinking there are more B6’s with headers than B7’s…but that’s a wild guess
Maybe someone should start a poll?
yeah, it sounds nice and clean in the video. Not obnoxious even. Did you have 2.5" catless downpipes before? If so do you find the headers
- a smidge quieter
- less droney from 1200-2000 rpm?

I ran a total of three setups with the Avant;
s1 - fully gutted OEM DPs mated to necked down FI via V-Band; 2.125 -> 2.5
s2 - catless milltek DPs that necked down mated to necked down FI via V-Band; 2.5 -> 2.25 -> 2.5
s3 - catless V1 mated to FI via fabrication of 2.5 slip-ons
Compared to the millteks, the V1s sound a lot smoother and quieter during drives (even quieter inside the cabin) unless under load, then the V1s open up.
And yes, the V1s most definitely kill the drone that happens between 1600-22/2400 during highway drives. I can actually listen to my music at volume 6 or 7 versus 12 or 13 with the millteks

Aside from Nnnick, FastEddie, Axel and DSGrey, I don’t know any other B7s that have actual performance mods other than the typical Downpipe/exhaust stuff. I might get flamed or hated on for this but from what I see on AZ, majority of the B7 guys (rS4 excluded) are all about the flash and stance scene…they don’t really care for the performance.
It’s “look at me, look at me for rep/scene points” kinda stuff and ya, I really don’t care for that scene…Ha Rule said it best, “it’s now well you stand by your car, it’s how you race it” or something to that affect.
