M3 was DCT with an axle back and some hack tune. Put down stock numbers - about what other stock m3s get on Dynojet.
Some pulls with an RS4 vs same M3 (plus passenger) later that night had RS4 ahead by about ~2 cars.
Rs4 had intake spacers, k&n, ecs h pipe, Jhm lw fw and stage 4 clutch, and Jhm lw rotors.

Maybe that’s how it goes (rs4 always losing/running 13s) on qw lol. If someone can drive reasonably well, the rs4 is very capable.

Interestingly an RS4 with a very similar modlist to his just ran 12.26 @ 112.98 mph. No tune, no catback, just lw rotors (all 4), lw flywheel, clutch, and lw front seats. He used 98 octane. Guy is getting lw wheels and a tune soon. Should be interesting. 11s with bolt ons?
That car went 12.84 @ 107.9 stock on 93. Same track s-quattro-4 went 12.69 stock…then 12.47 with Revo93/awe catback/strat intake.
Seems that perceived inability of the rs4 to respond to mods will need to be shoved in the toilet. Now that some guys who like the strip are getting the cars, they’re no longer ‘underachieving’.
Add in the tts sc RS4 going 11.41@125 on 93 (fastest pump gas time…for any Audi) and its looking a lot different than it did even 12 months ago when I used to get into so many arguments with b8 guys who said the 4.2 rs4 was ‘fail’ lol.

I’ll say my prediction now - an RS4 with the TTS or JHM or possibly AMD S/C’r + the right supporting mods and the right driver in an ideal environment. High tens. If I’m wrong so be it but it is starting to look like that is a very real possibility.
not out on a limb there NY. That last half a second is extremely tough (from 11.4 to 10.9) but I think lots of people are expecting to see something amazing from these cars. If they do it on pump gas, that will be hilarious.
I should put race gas in my car when I go to the track =P

something is…the latest round of auction and red book data shows my car is up in value since september. Such a thin market though so it’s highly unreliable.
I think the last 1/2 a sec is definitely a tough feat from a general performance stand point. But, afaik, none of us are professional 1/4 mile drivers with uber consistent times etc. I know I fuck up 50% of the time, whether it’s a sloppy 3-4 shift or a slightly late clutch release etc. Thats why I think each of the variables I gave are equally important…especially the driver mod. My point, I’m guessing there is room for improvement and that’s the main reason i’m confident someone will break into the 10’s on pump gas. Totally agree it will be hilarious and also awesome.
I also think someone will go N/A into the 11’s. I don’t care if I’m the last n/a rs4 to get into the 11 sec club, that would be my goal before I ever consider a S/C.

I think you’re right though…the tts car has an 11.25-11.30 in it in all likelihood. It wasn’t powershifted and the launch was modest…they were driving a customer’s car after all! Who knows how much strip experience the driver had?
I’ve got probably 150 passes in my s4 and I’ve left esp on twice, missed 2nd twice and missed 4th once. I’ve bogged bad searching for proper launch rpms another few times. But that’s it…out of 150 passes. 140 good ones and 10 bad ones. I’m not a great driver by any means but I eventually get good times because:
Notice none of that is about slamming gears or epic launches. Its just about being super consistent in your approach of eliminating as many variables that could sabotage your time as possible. If everyone dd those things all of these cars would look a lot better on the list. I could point to 4-5 of those things that are NOT done by all of the guys who go, run shit times, then blame carbon/clutch/tune/“these cars weren’t made for the dragstrip”.

Our track is empty on cold spring and fall days, but packed the rest of the year. I went once in the summer and got 1 run in after 90 minutes in staging lanes…then I went home because the lines got even longer. I vowed never to bother with that again.
Too bad they’re all so far. I thought there were a bunch in the NY area (unless you’re right out near Montauk or something).
The NJ tracks are actually easier to get to than the upstate NY tracks. I’m in central LI, about 1hr 20mins from Montauk. The main hwy’s end about halfway to Montauk for me so you are stuck on rural/suburban roads for th elast half of the trip, thats why it takes that long to reach Montauk. Plus we are densly populated on this island, it can get ridiculous in the summer months.
