So, what's failing? What are you doing to prevent it?

yea, the apikol is a no brainer, when i looked a few months back they didnt have an option for it, they snuck it on there i guess but all b8 owners should get this and not think twice

I definitely recommend it. It’s funny because when we first got our S4 my wife DD it. She actually brought up the sloppiness of the shifter (surprised me because she is ultra sensitive to automobile issues), so I did some research and went with the Apikol diff mount. Seriously a great mod all around…she was surprised at the difference.

She was also the one that said “how much faster can a tune and exhaust really make the car?” referring to the the JHM tune and FI exhaust. I let her take it to work that night and got a text that just said: Holy fuuuuuck

loved the diff mount on my s4, that groupbuy was pretty ridiculous

is the effect the same on the B8 S4?

+1 on the Apikol rear diff mount. Gud shyt.

Ordered >:(

I would like to hear some good reviews  if anyone has trouble with the install speak up!!

Going to order, does anyone know if the b8 works for the b8.5

99.999999999% yes but dont quote me lol

lol this is not what Arin had in mind

My gas millage is failing, I’m not doing anything to change it because racecar…better I hope?

I just meant the thread. It was kind of a market research thread to see of there are any business opportunities for Apr to make some parts for you guys. Then you all ended up buying stuff from apikol et Al. Just seemed funny.

Got mine yesterday… Was going to install but discovered my sons bathtub drain leaked into my finished basement so spent all day cutting out part of the sealing and fixing the drain… So far no more leak but redoing the sealing will be a real joy… lol Ahh the joys of home ownership…

Not much to it really…

I remember on the S4, the stock front brake calipers would ‘clunk’ every time I went from forward to reverse and the other way around (when I’d be on the brakes and creeping).

I think it was due to the caliper bushings softening from my track abuse. Went BBK and never had an issue again.

how about we flip the question on arin, what were the weak points on the race car?

Those quarter turn screws that hold the plastic guards under the engine and radiator have those funky quarter turn screws that eventually come out and get lost. The dealer wants $15 each for them. I’ve just spread out the missing 3 so that nothing falls off.

It actually was. I don’t want to break anything. If there are easy fixes that work well, I’ll probably buy one too. I’m sure we could make excellent stuff, but who knows if we would have the time to do it right.

Are there any other upgraded mounts out there?

Any parts that will lighten the car are always welcomed, I know they are not always the most profitable, carbon fiber driveshaft would be badass probably save 20+ lbs plus drivetrain losses.

Anything to lighten the front of the car would be best, obviously.

The two drivers that ruined it.

The rear diff mount pulled straight out of the subframe so motorsport made a new part that prevents it from pulling through. There were loads of other issues, but most of those were caused by the various wrecks we experienced early on. The ABS system would freak out so we moved to a Bosch motorsport system. We also found other issues with the braking system which lead to more wrecks. Most we’re centered around cooling after a pit stop where the car would sit idle during driver and tire changes. Scary stuff early in the game for sure.

What lead to the diff ripping out? Outright power or something else? Did you guys ever experience any issues with launches?
