So, what's failing? What are you doing to prevent it?

I think I have seen some other mounts from that one company in Australia (yellow mounts) can’t remember the name at the moment…I’ll see if I saved the link somewhere

Slapped the Apikol Rear Diff mount (Red Race version) on today. Only did a little drive with it, but so far in Manual mode, shifts seem smoother and more crisp. Going on a canyon run tomorrow and I should have more feedback.

Excellent.

So the Apikol seems to work fine. As stated, crisper/smoother shifts. I don’t think I’ll really be able to feel its full effect until I get suspension and an AK on the car though. Right now its probably not the weakest link.

On a more frustrating note, if you’ve ever had the pleasure of driving a black car through fresh white paint, you’ll know how crapy that experience can be. Well, I can now mark that off my list of things I never want to do again. Some asshat dumped what looked like at least a 5 gal paint bucket on the road and I went right through it. It was early in the morning so coming up on it at speed in the shadows it looked like water. Oppps!!! This shot was taken on the way back going the other direction. I’m tired.

That sucks… Did you get it all off?

you drove through it twice? Bummer.

No I’m not that stupid ;D. We went back the same way and when we came up on that spot I stopped to get a pic. Then went around it…slowly.

haha I didn’t mean that. I just meant you may not have seen it the first time, but did on the way back, then realised what it was.

So was it bad? Or just a minor annoyance?

^^^ LOL no worries. No, I stopped right after it happened and spent a good 30 minutes trying to get it off. Fortunately it was water based paint and I have managed to remove it all. If it was oil based - holy hell - different story all together.

I finished removing/covering it up today. I didn’t take any photos of the car when it happened but I did get some photos of the inside of the wheel wells. Just imagine one whole side of the car looking like that.

To get all that off, I just sprayed the wheel well and the spots on the under carriage that got hit with black paint - done!!

So uh, anyone over here having any issues with their DSG? Don’t know what the actual numbers of incident actually look like but you would think from reading some of the threads on AZ that all 2010s and some 2011s are doomed.

My 2011 was pretty much flawless.

Any more Apikol feedback stories? I think my sport diff wants one.

One review was enough. Ordered one. I will report back when installed. In the next two weeks I am doing this along with the EuroCode sways/endlinks and AK. Oh and Tyrol Sport solid brake bushings. I have high expectations.

two mechatronics replacements for me… first one covered without issue (and where the dreaded TD1 flag came from before this whole td1 thing started) second one happened almost a year to the day with a two month long battle with audi that ended up in them covering it which then required audi to pay several thousand in loaner car fees to the dealership. Haven’t reflashed since out of pure fear of failing again.
