So what's happening with the B6 S4 TT V8 @ JHM from Canada?

That’s exactly what happens when you play broken telephone, which is exactly what you’re telling me I should do.

[quote]It was running, on pump gas, with a JHM supercharger kit. It raced an E85 GT B5 S4 that count vohn tuned. jfunkey’s old car. silverbulletS4’s new car. Nogaro Blue that ran 11.5 @ 126 in 90 degree heat. Same night bluerocket’s car ran 12.5 @ 112. That was when bluerocket had stock downpipes with precats gutted, stock catback with just a muffler mod for sound. When the two cars raced on the street, the GT car couldn’t stay with the B6 because it jumped so hard. Took a while for it to catch up. That was with Jason from JHM driving the B5. there’s a video of it somewhere.

Cool.

[quote]Now that you’ve acted like a jackass, I stand by what I said. I told you and the thread that I’m not going to divulge JHM’s information about the build or what was required to do. Bluerocket knows, and as I said, if you want to know more, I’m sure you can ask him youself.

Quit being so dramatic. You’re not going to ‘catch’ me here. It just won’t happen. I’m being civil about this. You’re being a maniac. Let it go already. I thought you said you were ‘over it’. If so, act like you’re over it.

Since you seem to have selective hearing I’ll just leave it alone. It’s clearly not worth the effort.

I told you to call bluerocket or hit him up on facebook. I didn’t ask you to play broken telephone. You said in this thread that you know him and you spoke on facebook about the build. Try that again.

Are any of those 5 kits on RS4’s? What is forged in the RS4 engine vs cast in the S4? Anyone know of any RS4 engine failures?

rs4s have forged rods/pistons vs powered metal rods and cast pistons for the s4. rs4 also has better alloys in those parts

There have been a few rs4 engine failures that I can think of

  1. Guy in australia who had scored cylinder
  2. Same in france
  3. Same in california (BenSTi)
  4. Another one that had just grenaded somehow…there were chunks of metal in the oil panm. Nuts.
  5. Ny07rs4 got a new motor but I don’t really know why. Seals or something oil burning related.

That’s all I know of.

IBBBJHM

In for pics of the setups???

Sounds nasty, fully built 4.2 must be good for 1000 no prob.

Stuff takes time, especially with little shop r&d funds and time.

^^^That’s no joke either…the money they put into this is sickening. If I were a business advisor I’d have told them ages ago STOP!

They’re really stubborn though lol

Snow Trooper…do you know anyhting about the Vortech V3 and when intercooling will be an issue with it? Thinking of the RS4 project or the built motor supercharged car(s).

I believe NY07RS4’s problem was bad valve guides or something, not sure exactly.

Holy shit i havent been on here in a while. Id say the main reason is internet bickering that this thread demonstrates perfectly.

Just to clarify a few things. Notorious VR is a friend of a friend (and a friend that i have not spoken to in quiet a while at that). I dont know what he gets up to on the internet but i do know my dealings with him and real life have shown him to be a stand up guy and quiet frankly i dont give a kentucky fried fuck about the internet. We spoke on facebook id guess well over a year ago.

Anyways, this build has gone on for so long that i cant even remember the details. As saki said earlieritwas running pretty much stock with a SC early in the game to see what the SC would do on a stock auto high mileage car. If i recall correctly there was also some fiddling done with e85 at one point. There have been many issues from day 1 and it has been an uphill battle. Everything from VAST holding onto my car whil i was deployed and putting the project
Back 3 month to trials and errors with what id call an engine re engineeering over a motor build. In the very early stages of the game VR and many other people recommended doing a manual swap for obvious reasons. It wsas talked about with JHM but we decided to persue the much more difficult avenue of building up and tunning the tranny. This is still a goal of jhm in the future but i elected to do a manual swap just recently in order to speed up the project. JHM will keep my auto tranny to continue work in the TCU tunning arena.

Anyways to sum up, the JHM 4.2 TT project is alive and making progress. It has been an incredibly long and frustrating process but i can assure you all that JHM has bent over backwards (as have i ) for this project. Its pretty safe to say JHM has eaten a financial shit burger on this project but we have a stuck through it to ensure one day we have a fully built properly running 4.2 tt.

Anyways, hope this clears some stuff up im going to bed.

Wow thanks for chiming in bluerocket. You are a hero, sir. Glad to hear progress is being made and I hope you get your car back soon.

Great to hear some information about this car,

It is funny this one was always heard in whispers kind of cool kept the suspense

nice update, thanks for checking in

So where did they mount the intercooler?

#4 was a result of money shifting was it not? I think that’s the story we got from the tech who posted the pic of the rod in the oil pan.

#5 (me): Combination of worn/scored items. My valve guides were slightly worn allowing some oil to pass through. The main culprit was every one of my rod bearings was scored and two piston skirts were out of spec. There could be more skirts out of spec but they only measured two and then made the call to replace the block. Obviously, the combination of all of these failures resulted in significant oil consumption.

what am i? chopped liver? i grenaded a motor too… i feel left out lol

lean sieze go boom

That is what I want to know.

I was thinking about fitting a front mount intercooler when I get the JHM supercharger like on the B5s but the piping to the intercooler off the supercharger would require a 180 bend or so and it would be really helpful if you could spin the metal intake pipe between the throttle body and intake manifold around 180 degrees so the piping off the intercooler could go up by the coolant bottle. Of course I still have to look into it and don’t have the supercharger yet.

Can you elaborate? Tuning issue? Fuelling issue?

lol ;D

overly lean custom revo tune + meth = boom
