Solid rear differential mount and transmission mounts

Have any of the B8 people installed these parts from 034 or another vendor? The parts cost is pretty inconsequential and the labor is cheap. I’m wondering what the effect and tradeoff is versus stock parts. Are the stock rubber mounts only to reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). Or do the stock parts provided needed dampening for street cars to ensure the mounts don’t shear? Ideally I’d like to not break the diff if I exceed some force. I clearly don’t care about NVH given that I’m rolling on sphericals and race pads.

The closest comparable upgrade I can think of is engine mounts. A dynamic mount like in Porsche and the C63S can act like a solid mount (I think) in the stiffest setting.

I have installed some of those on local B8 cars by me and they are nice. They do stiffen up the car.

On my B6 S4 I have all the solid mounts/bushings/sphericals that 034 Motorsport sells for the drivetrain and suspension. They really do make the car more planted and fun to drive. I get more noise but I turn the radio up louder to compensate. I might be a bit biased but I really like the 034 Motorsport drivetrain and suspension parts for all Audis.

Yup, I have those installed. Quick and easy to install.

I like em. It did stiffen things up more. More direct feeling and I don’t think it introduced any noticeable NVH (note that I do have a pretty loud exhaust on the car).

I would equate the effect as reducing the ‘ripple’ through the car as your input changes. Like hard on throttle and then you get off of the throttle - the car (stock) would shimmy a bit (from the front making it’s way to the rear). This reduces it. Recommend it since you track.

I don’t think you’d break the mounts unless if you did a whole bunch of hard launches with super sticky tires and lots of torque (like APR did on their old race car).

Much more likely to break other things like axles than mounts with a fully stiff drivetrain, sticky tires, and lots of torque.

Ask me how I know.

My experience is the same I did the 034 Trans and diff inserts
