Some Old Photos from my S4 (intake mod)

couple of pictures I took of a mod I did to the intake elbow on my S4 (just found these recently)

basically just smoothed out the elbow a bit, who knows how much it helped but the car always logged very well

Nice pics , thanks
Do you have the “stock” pics? ( intake)
Regards

Nice! I did the same when I installed the bullitt intake on my 99GT… Was a PITA and took quite a while… Did the intake runners and plenum… I assume you just used a small hand grinder with some cone bits?

I don’t have a stock photo unfortunately. the surface was rougher with small veins/ridges typical of other castings in the engine (think the underside of the valve covers). the bump to allow clearance for one of the bolts was much more abrupt. the vacuum tap protruded into the flow stream (was cut square not with the profile.

primetime, pretty much. I used a cordless drill (dremel finally bit the dust after 7 hard years) and some dremel 80 grit large sanding drums and a few grinding cones (the grey ones). I only did the elbow so it took maybe 45 minutes, the intake manifold was processed similarly by JHM so I figured it best to match the two. it was easy to do since you could easily reach surfaces from either side thankfully, its brutal when you get the spot in the middle that is just out of reach.

Nice… Yeah my brother fabbed up an extension out of a thick/long spring believe it or not… This allowed it to bend and be able to get deep into the runners…

sounds right, these things are basically a spring in a tube
