Some tasteful mods | Aftermarket RS6 Bumper // CF Hood

I’m curious to get everyone’s opinions on these two items. I’ll be honest it took a few angles to see the quality in the RS6 C7-looking bumper, but it looks pretty good and it’s actually a cheaper alternative to OEM S6 bumpers. The CF hood was first showed to me months ago by BlackS6, and I just now found the company that sells them. Unsure if they’ll fit S6… is there a difference in our hood sizes (A6 vs. S6)?

EDIT: The first bumper is actually somewhat different (different vents, no fog hole for fog lights in vents). I’d prefer the first one since our fog lights are included in the headlamps.

I love the idea that this CF hood could be practical in that it allows for some weight reduction and engine heat to escape, (assuming there are actual openings). The bumper is very close almost identical to stock, the change in bumper duct could just be an aftermarket DRL / LED insert.
My concern would be panel gaps / fitment issues and the bumper material. Usually polyurethane is more forgiving than fiberglass bumpers but fiberglass is still as good too.
Finally as your title suggested tasteful mods, in that you don’t want to come off like a ricer doing too much. So for my taste i’d like to maintain a balance between Luxury and beast with minimal flash.

This would be a go for me, my beast is black and these mods wouldn’t create a huge contrast in the overall flow of the car.

The ducts do work from what I could see (there’s another image of the hood showing the actual ducts). I agree, no ricer! Lol. I’m keen on keeping the S6 as close to OEM as possible but while having some upgrades. It’ll definitely be a late 2019/early 2020 thing (if at all). And this is assuming the CF hood fits S6.

I’d contacted the manufacturer of that hood in China quite some time ago. It would be more cost effective and higher quality to have it made here in North America by Justin of Kuhl Rennsports or Anthony of Valenti Engineering. We would need to send him a hood to make a mold of course. The more orders we can get at once, the better. I initially asked about having hood, fenders, trunk, front and rear bumpers, etc done in CF, but of course, reliability demons said no… then priorities changed in life recently, so it’ll have to wait until sometime down the line when it’s not a frivolous waste of money lol.

The hood is already Alu and plenty light - not much weight savings. Same with the fenders. Purely a cosmetic thing. Also, be aware that most automotive “carbon fiber” parts are actually fiberglass with a top layer of carbon cloth; they’re not pure pre-preg and vacuumed in an autoclave. Just a nitpick.

That being said, realistically the only way to get a hood with decent heat extraction would be an aftermarket fabbed hood.

Well, I’m on board if the price point is good. Even if it was simply aluminum, the hood vents/ducts give that extra aggressive look.

I just want a vented hood to reduce that heatsoak even more. spacers and gold foiling the intake helped a lot, but it’s still a very hot engine bay

Hey, what about this one (the eye lids)? $42 and looks great imo.

Kuhl Rennsport does pre-preg for any body panels, etc… He can do the overlay stuff for interior pieces if you want.
