SRM - Twin Chargers - Teaser Pic - Thoughts?

Looks cleaner than the original setup.

Wow! That’s insane.

I don’t get it, it would be different if they ran amazing times, found the motor limits, and then built a motor with upgraded turbo…BUT THEY DIDN’T

They ran shit time, disappeared like a fart in the wind, probably blew up the motor trying to tune this stupid setup and decided to try a built motor upgraded turbo???

The B8 S4 guys need to stop kissing their asses and ask them why they failed the first time. Otherwise they will start scamming people and will disappear like a fart in the wind again. This company hasn’t done shit for the platform besides change their name 3 times and run horrible 1/4 mile times with a car that supposedly made 500WHP.

Still would be nice to have a turbo and a super to get things moving…zero lag and power all the way to the top…

I hate the company and I’m not even interested in the concept. It really doesn’t make much sense if you get into it, they are just trying to drum up attention and hopefully a few rich kids with ADHD will start throwing money at them for this UBercharged built 3.0t. They will make 700whp and run 13.5 in the 1/4mile.

This was cool in the 80s and 90s
In the days where turbos wern’t as efficient, and turbo lag was a very real thing that everyone was dealing with.
The Toyota MR2 (1st gen) was popular for twin charging in the aftermarket world once upon a time.

Now with twin scroll turbos and direct injection + electronically controlled timing of all kinds, I am not sure of the relevance of this anymore…

It’s cool. It adds weight in the front end, and arguably is no better than a proper forced induction setup to begin with.
If this stuff was really fantastic, don’t we think that Volvo’s triple charged 4 cylinder concept, along with Audi’s turbo diesel RS5 concept would use it?

Fact - they do use twin charging…except, the 2nd charger is electronic! There are many more advancements these days that do away with putting a mechanical sc with a mechanical turbo.

I’m personally not impressed with this development XD

^Err, what I meant was that I was not impressed with the twin charge kit.
What is actually impressive is the link i referenced - volvo’s triple charged 4 cyl.

It’s a twin turbo design…where the 2 turbos are force fed by an electronic motor at low rpm to produce a crazy plateau of power at all rpm’s.

That’s a real development. twincharging (sc/turbo) on the other hand…meh

scam company is a scam

who gives a fuck what they do. Let’s say they accidentally built something great, that produces great results, and is fantastic.

Are you REALLY going to give them $12,500 for a motor build, and $7,500 or so for that turbo kit and let them strap it to your $65,000 car?(guesses that will probably be pretty good ones)

They don’t even have a clue how to tune without stealing tunes off n e f homo and blowing up cars, and their biggest accomplishment thus far is selling a chinese side mount to undercut the ER intercooler on the B5 S4. So far on the B8 S4 platform they have released a tune, a pulley (and ZERO results) and have ‘teased’ a 500+ WHP/500+WTQ dyno sheet for a car that trapped 118 and ran like shit to a mid 12.

These guys are a joke. As I said, they might accidentally bump into something good…but who gives a fuck. Wait 5 years for them to establish themselves as a real company first, because they have a lot of bad history to undo.

AS my First post here, I agree with your statement, and to add it looks like a very expensive time bomb

Update from SEMA.

Interesting turbo location. …

Sounds fun ;D wonder how much the internal upgrade would cost?

Looks like a apexi safc is used for tuning ::slight_smile:

I saw that on the steering column and thought: “Is it 2001 again?”

You can see its active and they are using it. What’s more odd is if you look in there pictures they actually don’t have a maf. This is typical of these kinds of people. They put up stuff to look better then it is.

Safc but no turbo timer? That turbo is going to blow if not cooled down properly.

B8 S4’s are speed density.
You don’t have a MAF…

What happened to make everyone so butthurt in here?

Its a water cooled turbo, no need for a turbo timer.

fixed that for you.

There really is no need for a turbo timer, its a pretty ridiculous contraption. If you can’t drive like a sane person and allow your car to cool down for the last 5 minutes as you drive home, then you probably shouldn’t be driving a turbo car.

I was being facetious.

I used to have a Greddy tt on my 2002 WRX back in 2002. This thread reminded me that about a month ago some kid parked his absolute shitbox is300 (‘illest’ in cursive across the front window) down the street from my house and left it running and when he started to walk away I asked him to shut it off and he told me “I can’t its on a timer.”
