ST Coilovers for any B5/B6/B7 application $750 SHIPPED

Have you installed these? Want to order, but waiting on a credible review… thanks!

Waiting on a couple more bottles of brake fluid, but they’re on the car.

Cool

Can you choose yellow or red or black?

Also what’s that shit on your jhm lw rotors? Literally looks like diarrhea.

p.s. Are they on the right way? The fins should not be laid back, they should point laid forward if I’m remembering my s4 days. Can’t remember what way the slots are supposed to point (with the fins or against them)

Here’s my car with them on the front…can you see the slots? im on my phone so I can’t see details on the pic.

Nope. They’re on right. See here: http://www.zeckhausen.com/how_to_properly_install_rotors.htm

Cliffs:
directional vanes like on the JHM rotors should lean towards the back of the car at the top.
Slots make no difference as far as which way they are facing. It’s just aesthetics at that point

The shit on the rotors is rust. They sat in SilverB6’s garage for a year, and then they sat in my room for half a year. I got all of the rust off pretty much. What you see is just some staining.

And no, the ST’s only come in yellow.

should have gotten an android phone… I jest

yeah the vane direction is the important bit, they need to lay back to get the pumping effect from the hat out to the edge of the rotor

laid back? Why did I think they need to be laid forward?

if they are facing forward like this / at the 12 o’clock position they look like they’ll scoop the air, I know there is confusion there often.

They sat in my garage for a while, moisture didn’t help them. Once Joe beds them in they will look new. I purchased them March 4, 2011.

I got 91GL’s old rotors (he used them for a while, then went to the JHM Cayenne BBK

They were covered in gunge and had cardboard fused on them. I tried like fuck to clean them but never really was able to. They would shudder once in a while on hardcore stops from big speeds. I tried all the bedding etc. Wasn’t a big deal but I always regretted not cleaning them up perfectly.

I should have just bought a rotor honing tool…there’s like a drill bit you can by that does this. Works great apparently.

I was thrown off by the proper direction of air flow with the vanes. I thought they were supposed to face forward so air gets pushed in to evacuate the heat. Instead, them facing the other way cause the air to be pulled out of them. If they’re on the wrong way it probably causes air noise or maybe more drag, but idk.

The rotors just have some staining. There is no foreign matter/rust/shit on the surface

so…no diarrhea then?

cool

think of the vanes on a centrifugal pump, they curve back relative to the direction of rotation. The idea is to have the vanes pump air from the hat area out through the rotor and eject it on the outside diameter.

Scooping the air/pushing it in fights the pumping

Makes a lot of sense when you compare it to a centripetal pump. Also explains the way the hat is in line with the other edge of the rotor…to give it a nice big gap of open air to scoop in. Pretty cool design for sure.

Saki, you fukd up your JHM rotors

No I had them on correctly (as confirmed by jason from jhm when he saw my car). I just couldn’t remember what way was right.

Come on joe…I’m a big time rs4 owner now. I’m too busy stressing out about rs4 club membership and being elite so the rs4 guys will let me be ‘in’. .
