Stage 3 B8 S4 vs. Stage 2+ B8 S4...what is the true delta?

well there are reasons for going stage 3, but not necessarily logical reasons. Some people just want to say ‘I’m stage 3’. Some people bought PES superchargers after PES scammed the entire community multiple times. They didn’t care. THey were warned…but they just wanted to say ‘I’m stage 3’. Reality is most ‘enthusiasts’ are cocktail party enthusiasts who don’t actually accelerate, they just like to tell people at cocktail parties that they have 500 hp (or whatever a dyno tells them)

Some people aren’t actually in it to accelerate. It’s weird but some people are just in it to talk about their car as opposed to driving it. Same reason lots of people have 7 guns in their houses. They’re not actually using those guns. But they feel good having them. Do they need 7 for ‘protection’? Hell no. They need 1, maybe 2. But they have 7. They’re just stockpiling possessions, and lots of stage 3 people are doing the same.

The rule of thumb in this industry needs to be ‘Got a product? prove it works and then we’ll look at it’. Unfortunately most people buy first and ask questions later.

You just wait, when the zombie apocalypse comes you will see just how handy 7 guns can be!!

Not to mention that 500 AWHP Stage 3 car! Though I’ve been lead to believe that Hyundai Velosters are the vehicle of choice when dealing with the zombie apocalypse.

LOL! So Excelerate is selling the kit now and it sounds like anyone can buy it not like the prior release that various vendors advertised it but then when people went to buy it they were denied ::slight_smile:

On top of that it’s walking multiple stage II cars… No video of course… We should just trust you right?
Our intro pricing is much lower than $12k. Latest info from test cars have the stage 3 cars walking stage 2.
Oh and NO 1/4 times because the tracks are closed… Last I checked there are plenty of tracks open still maybe not in CT. I see we should probably just trust you right? lol
That I cannot say, but we are hoping we can settle that in the spring. Pretty sure local tracks are closed. [=(]
Can’t wait to read Eurocode’s new claims or that shop out of vegas that showed up for a minute and now doesn’t post much, you know the one with test pipes that are better than everyone elses…

I’m hoping the first video we do see is Pete and Richi as I’ll trust that one…

I can’t wait for is next spring ;D

LOL! LOL! I could not make this up… They literally just posted… WOW…

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/680662-Magnuson-APR-Stage-3-NOW-ON-SALE!!!-FINALL-8950-00

Yep, just like that. Didn’t take long.

It’s good to see they took all the lessons they learned from the first failed launch, and made it all better this time. I would have been worried if they just did the same dumb shit they did last time.

Magnusun literally had a do over opportunity and botched it again lol.

the new tune feels really strong so im curious how it’ll fair this time around

Yeah, my thoughts exactly…

This is absolutely hilarious… The best part is his claim on drag strips, while many are closed the state he mentions going to has one of the best tracks for DA and oh by the way is open. In fact they had a tnt last Sat. when the DA was between -350 and -1810! LOL Don’t get much better than that Eurotek! lol

Wonder if these are the blowers that were originally shipped or “fixed” ones or new ones?
Power gains are wheel horsepower.
The gains over a stage 2 car are 40-60 dependent on fuel and ambient conditions.
On a stage 2 car the gains aren’t as dramatic as compared to someone going stock to stage 3. That’s a fact. The stage 3 kit may not be for everyone. But it is a proven kit at this point that does produce the shown increases reliably without affecting drivability.
This kit is the way to have the most power on the market now and with future upgrades for this kit to come.

1/4 mile time will be shown soon enough. Right now isn’t the most ideal time for drag strips to be open in most regions. So we’ll need to wait for ideal conditions or a scheduled drag event in Cali.

It just keeps getting better… Love the bold part… Not trying to sell the kit there are you? Nice to know… No shit, Magnuson is only working on improving this kit given it’s all they make for the car… What exactly are they going to do? Use a larger compressor? lol

They’ve actually had DA’s under 1500 in Nov at Las Vegas Speedway…

I’m guessing Magnuson sent an email today saying hey guys you can sell those kits you have and this is the result… This guy may be the worst vendor of all time… lol
I sincerely appreciate your questions. I too am exhausted with the banter and negativity.
So to clarify, the kit was NEVER available for sale till now. Dealers were provided the opportunity to take preorders. The beta kits were just that “beta kits”. Right from day one. I know this because I myself participated in the beta program and was told by Magnuson to create some excitement and provide all the logs they requested. That’s what I did. Unfortunately, beta and share the excitement was a mistake. Should have been beta quietly. Because next thing we knew, these kits that weren’t completely ready were showing poor results. Live and learn right?
So Magnuson figured out that the coolant was bypassing the fins around the back side and that bleeding of the divorced cooling system is an absolute nightmare and none of us knew that very clearly. And some of us beta testers were also installing on cars that had the APR CPS which made bleeding that more difficult.
After all that had been resolved, suddenly these cars are fast. I mean holly crap fast. And you’ve all seen some videos of some of the beta testers running other cars. I myself have been satisfied with the improvements. While I initially agreed with the feeling of only 40-60 hp over stage 2, I soon realized that not only is it a huge gain over stock but if I want one of the fastest street Audis this was it. Then I learned that more is to come, but only to stage 3 cars.
I’ll be sharing Dyno sheets guys as soon as I have time to go back. I’ll also be running the car at the drags but don’t expect huge improvements compared to other regions because our DA here in Vegas and track conditions suck bad.
So there it is guys. Hope this all helps.

And EXACTLY zero. APR’s 93 octane S2 HP is 458 “crank” with 333 stock. The S3 93 octane HP # is 489 with 359 stock, but if you scale up S2 so that stock is 359 like the quoted S3 numbers – you get … 489.

Kind of wonder if APR tuned this to identical performance of S2 (or at least published graphs showing identical performance)? They might be less interested in selling S3 tunes via Magnuson vs selling a S2 tune and the required APR hardware directly?

Shouldn’t you be busy posting a lunch thread for the rs4?

Nice work, that’s hilarious

Oh and xlr8 are a joke. No part of this makes any sense.

I like the part where the other guys call it a ‘proven’ kit.

What has been proven you might ask?

 1. Proven slower on the street than stage 2
 2. Proven slower on the strip than stage 2
 3. Proven no better on the dyno than stage 2

They may want to stop proving things lol

Looks like EC went 10.921 at 124.25… Would like to see the entire slip and hear more details… Props to them…

It’s on facepage…

That’s what happens when a b8 s4 makes power and shifts nicely. If you really think about it, your car made enough mph to go 11.1. You’re only 1 mph behind them

10.9 @ 124 shows hiw incredible dsg is at putting down et for a given level of mph. The jhm rs4 and the Apr rs4 we can compare to were running 11.1 @ 125 mph after loads of attempts. The dsg beat them by 2 tenths with 1 less mph! That’s insane!

Edit:wonder if they ran with slicks…woukd explain part of that. Hope it was a clean run with full interior, full exhaust and street tires because based on that poll…it’s not going on if it’s not.

not impressed with that trap, srsly 9K for 1mph better than a dual-pulley stage 2 “+”…I think i’ll take my chances on the a dual pulley as you’ll only use the full boost on the smaller occasions at WOT.

Well like I said I’d like to see the slip as it will tell us a bunch… I’m guessing this was done at Sacramento and the DA was stellar a good part of the day so they have that going. Also, curious on fuel, weight reduction, tires, other mods(I’m sure it had the award winning headers ::)), pulley, LC, b8/8.5 since I’m assuming it’s a dsg car, etc. Like Saki I hope it’s a full weight pass on street tires.

Really it’s a pretty nice ET and decent mph. Can’t say I’m impressed or not until I know more details… Hopefully, they post an honest write up with vids(gopros would be nice as I’d like to see the shifts) and such, I know they’ll never share logs so we’ll have to wait for a user like Richi. Be curious to see his car race Pete’s now, should be a much different outcome really…

Still glad to see this and props to EC for getting out there and running the car, should help them sell some inventory… I’m 100% confident I’ll be faster very soon…

I will go as far as to say that run was definitely with slicks. Anyone want to bet a coke? Or a 7up?

I’d like to get a retro 7up delivery man jacket in Honor of Scott Weiland. That was his thing for a while in 93 lol.

But yeah the et pick up is way too good. They’re 5 tenths faster than the giac car but only like 1 or 2 mph faster. That doesn’t add up.

I think they have also been fucking with Primetime and giving him a shit TCU tune purposely so he wouldn’t make the stage 3 look worthless.

Why did Eurocode get a tune that works and doesn’t hang up? I’d bet it’s not the tune everyone gets. APR will dial it back and people will be embarrassed by stage 2+ cars soon.

That would be evil lol. Take the biggest supporter of your company and ruin him to prop up the stage 3 kit.

I don’t think that’s the case… I seriously just think they got over their head with the 2010 tcu. Of course I think they have definitely been stringing him along a bit so he doesn’t remove the tune as it would be a pr nightmare for them if he goes 11.28@123. He’s nice enough to support them by leaving it on so they’re lucky.
