Stanley Cup 2015

YESSSS!!!

Seems like Bolts sat back 3rd period. Great plays by the Hawks 3rd line. They have been doing well together. Too bad two of those guys gone next year lol.

Crawford also outplayed Bishop this game.

Hedman is the man. So solid.

Meh. I will take one Keith over 5 Hedmanns all day long

I’d rather have both. Lol

I can get on board with that

Love the interviews with the Swedes. They all sound like Goldmember.

So Game 1 winner has 77% success rate. I’ll take those odds!

But he was Dutch, no?

And love watching Shaw play. Guy gives it everything all ice time.

Eddie O “Shaw can talk a stamp of an envelope” hilarious ;D

Ya you’re right he was. Guess they sound the same.

Just wish Shaw had some more size. He is a tough sob.

I think Versteeg has earned the right to play another game.

Agreed. He had some hop in his step and a lot of energy. Laid it all out there. You had called for his benching early. He’s been much less than impactful for sure.

I like Jon Cooper. Seems like a solid coach. Enjoyed his post game responses. Very calm and thorough thought out remarks.

It would be awesome if he keeps it up. I’d rather have his puck handling/possession stats and energy like tonight and hopefully him Kane and Richards develop the chemistry they had during the regular season before he got hurt.

Bickell (upper body) I guess per Q.

We might also see TvR rotate in as the third pairing dman.

That stat clochner stated regarding winners of game 1 is pretty nuts.

Correction on my part- Teravainen and Timonen are from Finland. I thought they were Swedish for some reason.

Man you thought that was a weak goal?! Maybe lucky but that was pretty incredible, definitely one of those “I guess that’s why they get paid millions” type moments.

Tampa really seemed to strategize that poorly in the 3rd, no forecheck and completely content to dump and change every time they got the puck over the red line.

Kind of like run run run punt when you’re up by a touchdown.

Lightning look much better but a little awestruck when it came down to the crunch. Chicago just looked worse but won, because they’re just so comfortable.

Hopefully for Tampa they get over the moment. I’m pretty sure they’ll win, or should win but you never know. I like Stamkos and think he deserves a cup.

Tampa def had them in the first Saki. That was brutal. Could have been 3/4-0 at any point. But I think the strategy of prevent defense up 1 goal backfired. Bolts were playing not to lose and took their foot off throttle. Hawks showed patience and stuck to their game plan of limiting chances. That’s where experience payed off.

The turning point of game I thought was Crawford stopping Callahan on the breakaway chance.

Toews line was awful tonight. I can’t see that happening the entire series. Top two lines for both teams will do a lot of negating of each other and I see the Hawks having the advantage with the 3rd/4th lines.

3rd line of Sharp-Vermette-Teuvo has 26 points with 10 goals in 18 games including the 2 goals tonight. 4th line of Shaw-Kruger-Dejardins has 16 points including 7 goals in the 18 ish games they played

3rd line of Brown-Paquette-Callahan has 6 points with 3 goals (Callahan is responsible for 4 of those 6 pts btw) in the 19 games they played (Callahan played 20).
The two man 4th line of Morrow and Boyle have 2 points 1 goal 1 assist (both by Boyle). Tampa rolls 7 dmen so they’re down a forward.

Also, did Shaw bite Hedman? If so- very bush league of him.

Kaner seemed a little absent last night, no?

Yep. Weak on Crawford end for certain. He was in no position to make a save or was as it were. Shoulda stayed down but it end was standing straight up and flat footed…skilled goal and incredible hand eye by Killorn for sure. Maybe just being too critical

Pretty sure this wont go more than 6. Should be 4

I like Stamkos, too

I dunno about weak goal. Corey was screened, dropped down as he’s supposed to for the initial shot from the point, found the puck, and got beat by a lucky deflection/backhanded shot. No goalie should be hugging the post on a shot from the point when they are screened.

I don’t think there’s a harder shot to stop in hockey than a deflected shot. Let alone one that was wayyyy off goal…let alone one that was deflected nearly 60 degrees…let alone one that had probably a window of 3 inches to squeeze in.

If the shot was on goal, crawford was in the right position. That was just a crazy skilled goal that goes in 1/20 times.
