Stanley Cup 2015

Likely, but sure like this vs down…no late period goals given.

Controlling face offs, line changes and newbie goalie just got rocked in period 1 of game 7. Hawks 6-0 with a pp goal, check!

What was the deal with those 3 goals. They said they were in like a minute?i just turned it on and it was 3-0

^^ no they were more spread out than that. Two in the first, two in the second.

Think maybe talking about ducks scoring 3 in 37 sec maybe. Attempt to give ducks fans hope. “we can do this”. Nope

Buddy did quick head/jersey count and said easily 75% hawks fans in his section and nearby.

The IT factor is strong with these two.

Awesome game. Hawks have the best captain in hockey.

Boudreau was totally outcoached with matchups.

Getzlaf had an awful game.

And so far, Hawks managed to dismantle two vezina finalists and a hot goalie who entered the series with a .940ish save %. Andersen let up 4+ goals in last 4 games.

Pretty dominant performance all-around for the Hawks. Fuck ya!

That penalty the ducks took was disappointing. They got it to 4-2 but then immediately took a weak penalty and the hawks made it 5-2

If that doesn’t happen that the ducks score that 3rd goal as they did it would be a very different last minute. Unfortunately the ducks just fucked up.

Wonder of Boudreau will be fired. They have the tools but can’t get over the two well coached teams (LA and Chicago)

I doubt it would have made a difference in the outcome. Chicago was 31-0-0 this whole season/playoffs after leading first 2 periods.

Ducks just didn’t have it last night and the better team won the series.

Had Quenneville not healthy scratched Vermette and Teravainen for game 3 after a huge game 2 win- and also started using the Cumiskey/Rundblad combo instead of relying on the pylon Timonen much earlier in the series, this wouldn’t have gone 7 games.

Boudreau is the first coach in the NHL to lose six game 7s in his career, and he is the only coach to lose Game 7 at home in three consecutive seasons. It happened to him in Washington and again with the Ducks.

He had no answer for Toews/Kane on same line, didn’t make the proper adjustments to his lines to deal with this and also had a struggling goalie who let up 18 goals in the last 4 games and 13 goals in last 7 periods. Could Gibson switch have helped? Who knows. Glad they are out. Very tough team.

You doubt that it would have mattered if it was 4-3 with a minute to go? Because Chicago didn’t blow a lead during the regular season?
LOL

So if Chicago has a lead after the second in any of the games in the final they should just not bother playing the third period I guess right? That’s a crazy homer point of view.

Despite the Hawks having dominated the game on the whole, I have to say that third goal made me pretty damn nervous.

Record posted included Playoffs. I believe it’s 7 games In the playoffs. Also didn’t mention future games or not playing a period. Just a general pattern and how tough they are to beat in the third period.

As far as that game. Anaheim didn’t bring it. Chicago wasn’t losing. Anaheim’s head coach even stated his team sucked and Chicago outplayed them.

In regards to the hypothetical close game. That was in part due to the Hawks sitting back on their lead. You think they’re playing same defensive style being up 3 vs 1 goal? Lol. Hawks also missed about 3 open nets at the end. Wasn’t close. Never was.

it’s almost like you just started watching hockey and bought a stats book

for perspective, almost every team in the league has an incredible record in games where they take a lead into the third period. Seriously, go check it out. Even shit teams. Every year.

Further, all teams are ‘perfect’ until they blow a lead. That’s the point. Further still, many teams who were perfect holding onto leads do a great job of becoming unperfect in the playoffs. It’s just waht happens when the best 2 or 4 teams start facing each other.

But hey, let’s talk about the corsi stats some more.

All good man. Not looking to argue. Just was excited. I do like the advanced stats though. Few years now and gives a great look at game compared to the box score pov.

Wish that third period trend was true for last year’s Hawks. They lost a bunch of important games with a lead heading into the third. They might have had another Cup if they didn’t. They lost games 2 and 7 against the Kings with leads going into the 3rd period.

What are thoughts on next round??

Similar preferred style of play and nobody plays that style better than the Hawks.

4-2, 3rd cup in 6 years!

Skilled but kinda weak first goal given up by Crawford

Hawks aren’t looking good tonight.

I think its getting overstated. Im not worried yet.

Always anxious though. Bishop is gonna be tough to break down. Need to shot quick and hard when into zone to not let him get down to defend lower portion of goal. IMO

Is it possible to score on Bishop?

Goddamnit.

Bolts look good. Very fast and aggressive. Not giving Hawks any time with the puck on their forecheck and backcheck. Their dmen pinching a lot also. Might see some more odd man rushes as a result.

The Bolts are also tying up the Hawks with contact. Legal interference that the Wings have mastered.

They also seem to be using their size well— slightly longer arms on the tall guys reaching the loose puck, etc.

Blackhawks are going to have to get away from them- which means moving the puck with crisp passes and skating more.

They can’t pass tonight. Sloppy.

Fuck ya.

Not even getting to OT
