Meh. California, especially Ducks fans are pussy cats. That arena was easily a third or more hawks fans. Travel well and plenty of transplants. Listen to the chants. Easy to hear “let’s go Hawks!”
^^ good choice btw on staying home for Game 7. I wouldn’t want to be on enemy turf in the event my team lost.
I actually prefer to watch most sports from home - with the exception of good seats for NBA games. I’ve never had much interest in watching my Bears at Soldier Field - only been once. Same for golf. Unless it’s The Masters or a local US Open/PGA Championship/Ryder Cup, I really prefer watching on TV.
Agreed, live hockey is the shit. I’d go if I was you, the stakes are huge and how often will you ever see a game 7 on what I imagine is your doorstep. But will be best if you’ve got a buddy who cares and tickets are not ridiculous (I’d probably pay 250 max). No one in LA cares about sports, unless they are bandwagon NBA fans (how many car lakers flag you see now??? ;D) or transplants.
Ive made the 14 hour round trip last two weekends. I am ready for a chill weekend. There will be more Game 7’s. Who knows, maybe save my duckets for this one and catch a Stanley Cup Final game in Chicago this year 8) as the Hawks will be in it!
Actually think I might get a round of golf in today. Beautiful mid 70’s sunny day in the mountains. Perfect
