Stasis V2 @ Englishtown

I tagged along with the gang to Englishtown raceway yesterday for the ‘Audi/VW Show n Go’ event. We were some of the first cars there and able to get a good amount of passes in, I ran 6 times.

Conditions:
DA was -13/ 57F/ BP 30.08 inches, 33% humidity

Car/mods:
2011 S4, DSG, No sports diff, Stasis V2, 91 file/93 pump gas, APR Stage 2 intake, Stock 19s (Titaniums) ~51lbs…

Fyi: Spare and tools still in the trunk, weight as it sits on the starting line was 4,085lbs (driver + 1/4 tank).

My times are as follows (fastest to slowest):

1: 12.442 @ 111.94 … 60ft - 1.827 (LC) (3rd run, after hot lapping)
2: 12.517 @ 111.47 … 60ft - 1.850 (LC)
3: 12.583 @ 111.17 … 60ft - 1.872 (LC)
4: 12.820 @ 111.29 … 60ft - 2.067 (no LC)
5: 12.884 @ 110.80 … 60ft - 2.101 (no LC)
6: 12.940 @ 110.81 … 60ft - 2.126 (no LC) (my first run)

This was my first time at the drag strip and did my best to follow the advice I’ve gathered on here and Pete gave me some tips as well. ESP was fully off, 36 PSI all round.

Overall a great day, the car felt strong and I’m happy with the numbers. The only problem now is I want to go faster[evilsmile]…

Breakdown of runs in order:

[QUOTE=audisarecool;8643039]This car with DSG makes everything pretty idiot proof. I let the computer shift and just held on.

The main difference between my fast and slow times was the launch control. It is definitely effective. I guess it would have helped to put the runs in order so here’s a basic breakdown:

1st - 12.94 - Botched LC attempt that ended in brake boosting. Car kinda stuttered off the line then off it went.

2nd - 12.51 - Clean LC pass, timing the LC pause with the lights could have been a bit better, not sure reaction time affects overall ET though.

3rd - 12.44 - Clean LC pass, after two back-to-back runs within minutes of each other.

4th - 12.88 - Attempted to barely brake at the line, just keeping the car from going forward and then mash it once the light turns… Car just doesn’t fire off the line, it does a little roll out before actually getting going. 4th straight run no more than 5-10min after the 3rd.

5th - 12.58 - Clean LC pass, car sat idling for maybe 10 min before this run.

6th - 12.82 - Last attempt at a frankenstein combo of brake boosting right before the lights to kind of “prime the engine” and right when the light turned I’d release the brake and then mash throttle all in one swift motion. It didn’t seem to change much. Car still does a tiny roll out then bursts.

Good times there. The Stasis tunes are putting up good numbers.

HawkPilot6060 threw down a 12.4 @ 113 I believe

Thank you Saki, I’m happy with the numbers for sure.

One thing I’d like to get to the bottom of is that it seems that majority of the faster times have better luck without LC. I wonder if that has anything to do with the tuning or maybe I just can’t mash the throttle properly…

Nice times! Sounds like you had fun which is the most important part… Not sure on why the LC vs non LC would be so much different? What is your technique when not using LC? I always shallow stage and left foot brake the car with my right foot on the gas but not depressing it… On the 2nd to last yellow I dump the brake and hammer the gas in one swift fast motion… Just my .02

Thank you PT! What you describe is pretty much what I’ve done… maybe I wasn’t shallow enough, or maybe something about mashing the throttle before fully off the brakes that slows the computer down…

I’ll be there again soon so we’ll find out eventually.

you are need4quattro right? On AZ?

As for your non-LC times you might just not have the timing right. PT will help you sort it out.

PRIME…can you make a video that shows your feet and the tach? That would be good. Might be tough to film both

That may be tough but let me see if I can rig something up…

I’ve got the same alias on AZ, can you tell I didn’t have the patience to be creative when I first signed up years ago?

Stasis is that a apr tune or revo t7ne rebranded for stasis…looks good for pump gas…that first 60 feet really makes or breaks it huh

it really really does on these cars since we have to get this boat moving quickly since they are not trap monsters… I know pretty much after launch and 1-2 shift how good/bad the run will be…

that’s the new REVO light tune.
the old Stasis tune was an APR light tune.

Where’d your timeslip go for the 12.4 run? It’s showing as a red x. Maybe just my computer?

Still working for me but here’s another link, I reuploaded…

sorry, it was ‘needquattro’

I have the same alias here and on AZ…

Congrats, sweet times and nice looking car!

Thank you sir!
