Finally got to stop by JH Motorports after 9 looooong months on Kwajalein Atoll. It is really awesome what they have been able to do to the RS4 thus far. I got to drive it for the first time since it was SC’ed, and it feels absolutely amazing. Words are hard to explain how much different it feels after the SC kit. Thanks to the crew there for being so helpful. I can’t wait to summer 2015 when I get to get it back permanently.
what do you mean 2015 to get it back permanently?
He is in the military and is away till then. He’s just here on leave (vacation) this week.

Your car is awesome. I watched a video of it running the fastest quarter mile times of any of the entry level kits (APR1320, JHM stage 1 6PSI, PES M90, AMD LP kit). Awesome.

BTW - I had never heard of Kwajalein Atoll. Those are some pretty remote islands!
There was some nasty fighting on Kwajalein during War II.

The fisherman landed on one of the other islands in the Republic of Marshall Islands. WWII saw some pretty amazing action with the Army’s 7th Division taking Kwajalein and the Marines 4th Division taking Roi Namur. I am super excited about my PCS, because it should be my last as I prepare to retire after 20 years. Can’t wait to finally get the RS4 back (with new exhaust) and begin looking for jobs in the NorCal/ Bay Area.

Is the APR 1320 still available as a Stsge 3 option for cheaper? That’s pretty cool if that’s the case, if they priced the 1320 under 10k I’m sure a lot of people would probably go that route. I guess they might as well offer both since they did R&D on both
No they stopped production of the kit.
They couldn’t sell it for under $10,000. It would just about lose money and would likely offend the fuck out of everyone who paid $14-18
They don’t want to offend those people…they want them to buy the 1740.
Frankly I don’t see the point of a 1320 on a 4.2 RS4 at this point. Even if APR is $10,000, you’re going to spend $10,000 for a 1320 to max out at 425 whp or something? There is JHM Stage 1 for $8,000 doing that and there is AMD LP doing that…both of which are upgradable to something that traps 125ish (AMD) and more (JHM).
The 1320 was always way too small. The only reason we got excited about it is because it wasn’t an Eaton M90. Reality though the 1320 wasn’t an awesome choice. In the time since that 1320 kit has been launched, we’ve seen a bunch of RS4s run 1/4 mile times within 3 tenths of the 1320 records…and within 3 MPH of it ALL MOTOR.
i.e. APR1320 record was 11.83 @ 116.5
we have 3 all motors RS4s running 12.2 @ 112+
we have a couple more all motor RS4s trapping 113.5+
So it makes you wonder
