stoptech and brembo question, need help asap

for those of you running either of the mentioned BBK’s. do you need spacers to clear your FACTORY wheels? in particular the 5 spoke titanium wheels? trying to see if those 2 brake kits have a lower profile than the RS5 setup i am running. i dont want to sacrifice concavity on my new wheels so am looking into a new BBK and if the profile is in fact lower, i will be selling my rs5 setup for a very good price, possibly even with a set of LW rotors and pads so new that they havent even been delivered to me yet lol

well id rather know about the titanium wheels just because i know it takes a 3mm spacer to clear the rs5 brakes. im not sure how the back of the wheels compare to one another

so HRE confirmed that the stoptechs will clear fine so i went ahead with it. my other option was to have HRE build me a set of high offset wheels but that would mean flat faced wheels. my decision was clear lol

I just read your new wheel thread. I admire your desire for the concave wheels, I had the same desire, but not enough to give up my RS brake package, so I ended up finding a wheel that fit the brakes instead of brakes that fit the wheels.

To each his own, wheels look great

^^^do you guys use RS4 (B5) brakes no the B5 S4?

the b7 rs4 brakes are a direct bolt on for the b5’s

wow…that’s awesome for the B5 guys. Massive brakes compared to the stockers.

Of course it brings a wheel dillemma into the picture…hard to find a wheel that will fit those brakes and not look retarded I’d bet.

What is the stock offset of the b5 S4 17x7.5 Avus wheels?

My 18x8.5 ET38 VMR708 weren’t even close to fitting over the B7 Rs4 brakes…I wanted to use them for winters.

youll need at minimum et 31 to clear the brakes 30 to be safe

I found it almost impossible to find a good looking set in my price range to fit over the RS package. I had a set of HRE P545’s that would have worked, but ended up buying a set of OEM Gallardo Casseopia’s, mind you this is for my C5, not my B5.

Either way, the Stoptechs look gorgeous behind those new wheels, great taste

I have personally installed the 6 piston brembo kit and it will not clear the barrel on most non forged 19s.
