whoa, thats a solid difference right there…
Yeah, surprised at the big difference… Given the LW rotors are the only additional mod between cars, tune aside… Any timing, boost, bypass, IAT, air mass logging? Would be interested in the deltas there as the APR car is clearly faster… Maybe there are some differences between the B8 and B8.5 manuals as well? Good stuff Pete!
Something is different about the B8.5 which is why GIAC hasn’t released the software for the B8.5 6MT. I’m only making 14.5-15.1PSI while Tsivas is making high 16’s low 17’.s
Still trying to figure this out…
Pete, Is the bypass opening to limit boost or it just isn’t making it? If the pulley size is the same and the blower is the same it shouldn’t be lower boost… Could they have resized another pulley that changes the ratio? Would be worth checking… Thanks again for sharing all the testing you and Tsivas do…
This. + karma.
Crank pulley is what i’m thinking honestly… I have to take apart my car and my dads and measure the difference. The pulley is off my old car, the intake is off my old car, the exhaust is off my old car and the tune is the same. Just no bypass and it won’t make more than 15.6psi. That’s the max we’ve seen in all the logs. My old car hit 18.1 a few times.
“Pete cooler”
Lol
ICED TZATZIKI or FROZEN OIKOS for name of Cooling Setup??
I also had 19 inch Titaniums on vs Pete’s stock 18s.
JHM LW F/R rotors def are helping a little. I noticed that day I put on. I am also running Motul Inugel Coolant with MoCool additive if we are gonna nitpick differences.
It was def chilly today. Temps were 63-64F when we went per dash gauge and slight drizzle in some areas of track. Pete was very persuasive on going. Much more fun to do in daytime. No cars were around from the bad weather which was a huge plus.
Guess it wasn’t a true summer day. But I’ll take the results. LOL. My car has been behaving freakishly well since CPS put in. A must mod for Stage 2 guys.
compared to the hot ass times from last week (+1608 DA, 81F)
B8.5 S4 GIAC Stage 2 BETA 6MT
60-130 = 12.99s
B8 S4 APR Stage 2 6MT v2.2
60-130 = 11.87s
The ~1200 DA drop and ~18F in temps drop helped me 0.87 secs and u 1.05 secs (with CPS added).
When I was driving to work this morning and saw 67 degrees on the dash first thing that came to mind was “Gee, I wonder if Pete will be doing testing…” haha
Nice results guys, I need to come and do some pulls with you guys one of these days.
As for the CPS I will have to agree with tsiv. Once I installed the AWE Coldfront, I would say the car felt less sluggish, it’s hard to explain but it just felt better. The car really takes a toll from the hot weather…
Can you come out Monday?
