Switching to a Roc-Euro Intake

Awesome - thnx!

Im in the same boat. I have the Stage 2 APR intake, but want more charger whine, but even if the Roc Euro intake makes a better sound and may give slightly more gains… end of the day, when compared to the look and finish of the APR intake (and given that it is a fully closed air box - PIG friendly)… it makes it hard to make that jump. Whats your thoughts after jumping ship? Is the noise and minimal gain worthwhile?

thoughts? Here’s one… Try driving with your hood on, and you won’t have to look at the intake.

Who cares how it looks? It’s like worrying what your socks look like or the dirt under your grass. It’s covered up, so focus on it being effective rather than how it looks.

800088 - I understand what you’re saying. The APR kit certainly looks great under the hood. And it helped liven the engine noise up a bit. But what really matters is whether it increases performance. That’s what I’m shooting for here.

In that regard, my next set of 1/4 mile passes will be really interesting. The only thing different will be my intake. Hell, I’ll even try to run with the same winter setup that produced my personal best of 12.32.

On the advice of the AR forum I am patiently waiting for my Roc Euro intake to be shipped. I didn’t realize it was a special sale price when I bought it a couple weeks back, and unfortunately got in on some kind of a group buy. Hopefully it ships soon!!!

I spoke to John@RocEuro yesterday, and he said that he hopes to ship the orders out this week. My credit card was just charged today. I think a lot of people bought in on the sale + free shipping.

Nice! I rather like the sound of the Roc-Euro intake.

Unfortunately no free shipping for Canucks, but I am hopeful that he ships this week.

If you need help with install let me know I have one and I am in downers grove

Thnx, db. I’ll hit you up if I need any help. I was hoping to get it by the weekend, but I have not yet received a shipping confirmation.

Ron: I ordered the wrap that you suggested. Looking forward to making the switch.

Nice! For the price it can’t hurt and like I said it looks good as well… Just take your time wrapping it… The install is very very easy… Literally 5 minutes once you’ve done it… First time may take 15-20 minutes…

Saki, Forgot to mention thanks for posting the pic…

Brandon, make sure to wear gloves while wrapping the pipe; that fiberglass doesn’t really soothe the hands…

Noted!

Has anyone here tried to extend the roc-euro to make it reach behind the lower front grille for colder air, with any real world results at all? No speculation, just facts?

I know there is an A6 with a custom Intake pipe, Ynnekdude, is that one yours? If so, what kind of true gains did you see? And was it worth the effort? Would you share how you accomplished this?

Thx,

The USP one goes down pretty far… If I was buying one I would go with theirs… I’ll be making another new one in the near future and see how it does… I’ll also have my current one for sale if anyone wants it?

One week after ordering still no confirmation email. No indication that it has shipped. Sucks.

I think it’s a one man show over there. It shows at times. All of these businesses that are small and make a niche part get overwhelmed, especially after a succesful group buys.

Bank on March 15th and you won’t be worried about waiting. Nothing’s open and the roads are covered in ice, so you wouldn’t feel the extra few hp anyway.

Agreed. I believe John@RocEuro basically said just that in the AZ thread. Didn’t realize it was a one-man show. He shld be a member here.

I ordered mine on Feb 7th, no confirmation no shipping info. I understand the 1 man show, but some communication would be nice
