Tail Lights

All four of my tail lights have cracked lenses - likely from UV exposure during its lifetime in the CA sun. None of them are leaking, but it bugs me to see the myriad of tiny cracks covering every lens. I have been searching for replacements, and so far it looks like OE will cost $700+! I have found a few aftermarket assemblies around $600, but I would prefer to keep it looking original.

Do any of you have sources to get these at a lower cost? My Google-Fu is usually pretty good when looking for auto parts, but I’m striking out on this one. I am willing to buy used, but so far all of the used ones I have found have been very close to, if not more than new.

Thanks!

Is that $700 coming from Audi USA or a third party? Have you tried looking on eBay for lower prices for OEM lights?

That $700 is for Valeo’s from Amazon or eBay. I’m sure that Audi would be much higher. ECS is higher as well.

That’s crazy. I could find a pair of RS6 headlights for around that same price point… let me get to searching. Would you might if they shipped from outside of the US?

check wolf autoparts…

$199 per light used.

Sorry - I guess I should have specified that I have a C6.5 2009. I have both inner and outer lights on both sides, so it is 4 pieces total. I did check Wolf and they don’t have any.

Oh - and I don’t mind if they come from outside the US!

If I’m not mistaken aren’t the tail lights and trunk one piece? Damn, I’m glad this hasn’t happened to me yet, lol. I think there’s only OEM parts for it. I’d try pulling the part numbers and searching car-parts.com.

The facelift models have a bit different tail light set up. they have a shorter taillight housing on the body and they have two parts on the deck lid… i think it’s got the reverse lights there.

I might be wrong but I think of the 4 pieces 2 of them are on the deck lid and I don’t think you need a new deck lid but you would need to run some wires If I remember correctly.

This is the best deal I have been able to find so far. I have never bought anything from ebay that came directly from China before. I have to admit that I’m a bit leery about giving them my money and just hoping that the correct part arrives. Anyone have experience with this?

And this is the same set on ECS - only these are OEM lights. See why I am trying to find less expensive options?

Yeah. A coworker found a nice LED upgrade for the Raül lights on eBay for $340ish. Look nice.

I really like the looks of those. I wonder if anyone has tried these yet? I think the C6 S6 has aged very gracefully but something like that, if they are good quality, would take a few visual years off.

I Agree. The S6 still looks good today. But those lights would really wrap the car up well. Interesting to see if they work and if there are any real mods needed to make them work.

Yeah, those tail lights in conjunction with RS6 head lights would be a fairly modern and well put together look. I tried searching for reviews or how-to videos to see but couldn’t find any. It will be something i’ll get in the coming months. I’ll let y’all know how it goes.

That’s awesome. I would really like to see how that plays out. Those mods are a great way to really wake up the car.

I like these!
