This is from a show called The Newsroom. Sadly I think all of what is said is right.
Nice clip. The questions then is: what is the greatest country in the world?!
I love that show, one of my favorite shows.
There is no such thing. No one country ticks all the checkboxes. It’s all give and take, pros and cons, and each person will have a “greatest country” that meets their own criteria.
Great clip though. Unfortunately, it’ll most likely fall on deaf ears of the people that need to hear it most, as it always is.
I’d say New Zealand for me personally. Can’t find a downside. France was actually a close second but then I’d not only have to learn French, but medical French at that! Plus La Marseillaise is the best national anthem ever!
Ontario would be pretty close too but there are no decent mountains here. I can’t consider Canada as one country as it’s so bloody massive.
There’s only one ‘the newsroom’ and it’s the cbc show Ken finkleman did in the 90s.
If you want to see ‘the office’ 5 years before it hit the UK and ten years before it hit the USA go check it out. It’s almost as if merchant and nervous copied it… But they couldn’t have because it was on Canadian television and nobody on earth watches Canadian television, not even canadians lol.
Ken finkleman and Jeremy Hotz and a great cast all around.
Yeah I noticed that when I was in Canada this past summer, your sitcoms are pretty bad.
New Zealand is quite remote which I don’t like, and it’s got earthquakes
As for France, I’m French and I wouldn’t want to permanently live there. It has huge flaws just like any other country (and huge pros as well but they don’t outweigh the flaws for me). You can’t know a country until you’ve lived there for a while and got to know the intimate details of how life is in that country.
Mr D is good. Maybe torrent an episode. The Newsroom is solid.
Otherwise pretty poor choices.
Thanks Joe, good video
No such greatest country anymore…with the way globalization is going, its going to be who has the most money and power. Sadly there is nothing we/you can do about it.
New Zealand is a good pick since they seem to be far removed from the world scene.
As far as the US population’s general ambition, morals, and perspective of life…its speaks for itself :
Quebec has great TV. But like you said it never gets picked up outside the province let alone another country lol.
Its too bad since many of these shows are innovations and not just rips from another country.
There was a Quebec office. Ever see it?
Are you talking about Camera Cafe?
If yes, it was pretty funny but i was never able to get passed the camera setup.
le bureau I would suspect lol. Not sure. I’ll find it.
