Damn. Glad to hear nothing more serious. My thumb is still screwed from my fall last year. Absolutely down to meet up in WI. Hoping to get out there in the next few weeks.

Telluride was surreal. Most beautiful place I have ever visited. We were lucky enough to have fresh snow the first two days and clear skies on the third day. It was cold but nothing we couldn’t handle. Took a lot of video and pics but have only uploaded a few. Can’t wait to go back. Those OR Alti mitts I bought last winter worked wonders for my hands. I was sweating in them. Never felt cold at all despite a lot of windy chairlift rides and sub zero Fahrenheit temps at summit.

Might be going to Winter Park in late February. Hoping it pans out.

You’ll like Winter Park/Mary Jane. I’m there once or twice a week and its skiing really well this year. Doesn’t have the scenery of Telluride, but usually has better snow, with great tree and bump skiing. Was knee deep light powder last Sunday and been snowing ever since.

Last one is actually from the lookout at the bottom of Revelation Bowl.

I loved Revelation Bowl. It was a lot of fun but I was absolute garbage in the deep stuff. Definitely a new type skiing for me. I’m working on it. They had one of the Revelation runs groomed by the third day and I was pretty decent on that.

Favorite part of the mountain was probably around Prospect Lift. There was a run called Magnolia that starts off with a narrow catwalk that drops into the side of a couple steep runs lined by trees and then goes through some forests and ends with a few steeper moguls right by the lift. Lots of cool variations on each run.

Did that really long Galloping Goose run a couple times. Not really challenging but those views were stunning.

Nice! Glad you enjoyed it and not surprised. Telluride is a pretty sweet place. I like the juxtaposition of mountain village and the old town. Place is great in spring and summer too. We have been to several music festivals there and its a great time.

Made a little highlight reel from the trip.

Booked my flight for Denver in late February. Looks like I’ll be skiing Winter Park for a few days too.

Looks like a great trip! Nice bluebird days.

Our trip was a complete washout, literally. Rained at Whistler the entire week. Such a bummer. Too warm a storm at too low an elevation resort. Doubt we will ever chance it again after this experience. Sticking to higher elevation North American resorts from now on.

Rain from base to peak a couple days. And if it was snowing, it was very wet n heavy. Oh well. Second trip to BC and neither have been stellar. Simply too unpredictable at that low of elevation. A couple degrees and it would have been feet of snow judging by the rainfall totals over the week.

When were you there? That’s kind of shitty. Haven’t been that way in years (done Big White a couple times, Whitewater, and looking forward to Baker, Sun Peaks, & Silverstar all at some point) but my brother was up for a day trip yesterday, and said it was some of the best snow he’s seen in a while. Granted, that’s not saying ALL that much with the recent snow here, but no rain. Bunch of friends gone on a day trip today, too.

Of course the snow was “great” once we left. Lol! We were there all last week. Left Friday. Everyone there was miserable.

I totally get its a crap shoot, but we just won’t take the risk on the low altitude. It really is a degree or two from boom or bust. No alpine areas were open, they actually closed expressway run to the base on Thursday because it had running water washing away the run.

Really poor timing and luck, but not willing to risk it again in the future. Maybe Revelstoke?

Finally got a day in at Sugarbush. Been travelling a bunch recently so was delayed. Went straight to the trees for hours, feel like I was in a car crash now.

Here is what happens in CO when the media hypes up a weekend snowstorm. Gondola No. 1 at Vail yesterday.
