Thermostat as coolant change tips?

Hey guys,

I have had a couple of times when the old temp gauge started to climb up to 3/4 hot. It normally sits at just over halfway or about 92degrees C. So thought I’d do a thermostat change. The coolant also looks pretty weak (mainly water)so that’s gotta go.

Looks like a simple process to put the housing and drain. Any tips for filling the coolant?? Also how much coolant should I expect to use? Any specific type I should use? I don’t need much anti freeze properties as it’s not super cold we’re i am.

Many thanks

Neil

you can really use any coolant you want but you want to stick with euro coolant. Universal coolant works very well.

Here is some light reading if you care

Really walks you though all the main coolants you would normally use.
