Thinking about an S6

I can now officially post in the AZ C7 thread.

Its on shipping blocks still. I dropped off the S4, did all the paperwork and then left. I am going Elk hunting for the next 5 days, so the detailer is gonna come pick it up and mod it up while I am away.

Happy Hunting!

Hmm… I need to hit the shooting range sometime… Bleh weather though lol - might wait till next spring.

Haha congrats! V8 FTMFW!

I hope you miss. Hunting ftl

Where are you going? Alberta? Mind the 150+lb timberwolves.

Central Oregon.

I’ve got the leaf blower out to scare the kids.

Quite a non sequitur lol

Car looks good bud, even on shipping blocks… lol Looking forward to your review and modding…

Well I didn’t fill my tag this year.

The good news is that my car will be done today. Pics to come…

I’m excited for you man, makes me want to go buy a new car.

Does that mean you didn’t kill any stuff? Good for the elk!

Stopped by Metropolitan Detail to pick up some stuff and check in on the progress. Some other cool cars in the parking lot.

For those who are just reading this, I came from the 13 S4 with DSG. I had so much fun with the dozen or so track events with the car, that I bought a P-car to slog around. The S6 was chosen as it provided me with more room, (kids and carpool), and more importantly a refined ride for highway slaughtering. I drive a ton to my apartment properties. The S6 makes time speed up and miles disappear with my long “commute.”

Positives:
-Active Noise Canceling inside the cabin. I cannot tell you how enjoyable this feature is for the modern day car. Every single car from now on will require this feature, it is that enjoyable. Even with the seats down and the trunk wide open, still as quiet. I couldn’t believe it.
-V8T FTMFW, power always on tap. Not much else out there that can beat you to the next stoplight, especially in Seattle on a cold and icy day. Overtaking power on the freeway never ends. It just keeps going and going, look down, and your speedometer is yelling at you to keep going faster. Feed me Seymour!!
-Great cockpit, love having the SD slots for all my music and movies
-LED’s give my eyes a boner every time I drive at night

Negatives:
-Numb to the road. You pay with weight for all that refinement
-e-Steering is ho hum. Good enough, could be better.
-DSG is a little lost on this platform. I may change my mind, but I just park it in D or S mode. All those cylinders make it gear forgiving.
-Expensive as you add up all the options, which everyone wants standard
-Thirsty when you mash the pedal. But what isn’t?
-Not as fast as an RS7 lol
-no Sport exhaust option. My god does this engine need the ability to be heard. With the active noise cancellation, and 4-cylinder mode (with valve on exhaust), it becomes a muted thrill ride.

Bottom Line: I wish we had Autobahns.

Only thing I have done to the car was throw on a set of Michelin A/S 3 Tires and reinstall my Laser Interceptor’s (clear bra, opti-coat, tint, blah blah, who cares).

50% tint on the front windshield, cuts the glare out great at night

People like to lower these cars with the modules. I actually think it looks spot on.

The seats are great for my 6’ 175lb frame.

LED’s are fucking-fan-tastic

Here it is in its native state, resting in between highway sprints. The Lofts in Richland are now renting, let me know! lol

Car looks great!! Thnx for posting the pics. What is it about the DSG that’s lacking as compared to the S4?

And that is one of the most unique apartment buildings I’ve seen.

DSG is a lot more authoritative in the S6. Shifts are almost violent at times. I am not sure you really need that going to Jimmy Johns and back.

Yeah, the apartments are a unique design that my architect and I came up with. Some more photos here: http://innovationtoday.com/apartments

Instead of your typical walk up garden style apartment, we moved to interior hallways to give a condo feel to tenants. Didn’t waste any money on the clubhouse, put the money towards features that matter, like keyless entry on the entire property, 24/7 gym, etc.

The area is sort of an epicenter for clean tech research, lots of government money. Top 10 multi-family market in the nation and its in my backyard.

Nice apartments. Where are they at? Dude, I still want to check out the S6.

In Tri-Cities, WA (North Richland to be exact)

Doug, Car looks great! Glad you are enjoying it…
