I need to drive an S6…see how floaty it really is. Everyone kind of mentions it, but I bet it’s NOTHING like the last S6 which was bargetastic. It is huge, but it looks pretty reasonable in the photos. The design is great, it masks the size. I get fooled into thinking they’re facelifted S4s sometimes when I see them quickly from the side or rear from a distance. The headlights are distinct though.
It’s funny how Audi launched this whole dotted LED DRL line trend with the R8 and then B8 A4 and so on…now literally everyone does it.
Audi has now moved away from the dots to solid lines. Wonder how long till everyone else does that too.
Mercedes has gone full retard with teh LEDs. They have them all over the front of their cars. Looks silly. Same with the Q7 though…it’s LED madness.
Yeah, fucking everyone does it now that’s for sure… KIA, Hyundai, Dodge, and on and on… As goofy as it sounds I think the DRL’s really helped Audi capture market share and get people to look at/buy their cars… Even my wife who is 100% not into cars commented about the DRL’s years ago when they first came out about how cool they were… The LED headlights are pretty pimp that’s for sure…
Yeah, they had a string of successes that gave the brand heavy momentum. They went crazy with the RS4 (crazy considering it was a 330-350 hp market back then with the M3/S4/C32 etc) and won all kinds of awards, then they launched the R8 which was the gigantic piece. It was also so unique that they were able to leverage its presence by getting it into mainstream movies like Ironman etc. The LED thing too was another brilliant design stroke that really gave the cars an identity. From 500 yards away kids and wives knew an Audi was coming.
It’s really getting crazy how many Audis there are now. I remember being a bit of an anorak driving my B6 A4 Avant. It was a very contrarian purchase, to walk past the 3 series and C class, not to mention Lexus IS (which I traded out of). It was ‘different’ and unique compared to driving a BMW. Now Audi is dominant up here. NOt sure in the US where it’s warmer, but here the Audis are kicking ass.

RS5 facelift. I really don’t think there’s a better looking car than a facelifted RS5 with black optics and one of the blue colours. They’re just STUNNING. I saw one the other day and answered my question I often ask. If my RS4 was stolen what would I replace it with? I have had zero answers for myself for the past 2 years until now. I would replace it with blue/black RS5.

Saki, Totally agree with what you said… I had forgotten about the R8 in Ironman that’s a great point… I prefer the look of the B8 S4 over the B8.5 DRL wise and actually like the front end better as well… The B8.5 wins in the interior side with the flat bottom wheel and nicer shifter IMO… DSG sucks but now we are getting into the mechanical aspect… Also, agree the RS5 is the coolest looking non-exotic on the road, I still prefer the look of the R8 but it’s a different class so to say more of an exotic…
This would be a cool car…I keep thinking they’re going to announce that its coming.
Canada is getting the A5/S5 sportback next year I think. RS5 sportback would be awesome. Sort of an RS4 sedan.

Alex recently mentioned the A5/S5 Sportback wouldn’t be here until 2017, which likely puts new RS lineup at what…2018-19?

For Xmas I am hooking him up with all the bits (full Xpel wrap, tint, laser jammers, Bel STiR Plus in the mirror).
The car is an absolute beast in stock form. It is so fast its ridiculous. Feels almost 2-3x faster in every gear compared to my S6.
I took it out to Breakfast this am with my buddy (-3400 DA), it just pulls and pulls. I cannot believe APR is going to give this car more power!

Thanks! Taken a few years to get it all sorted. I actually added the 3rd garage bay as part of my remodel right after I bought the house. All my neighbors think I am running an illegal auto repair shop in the neighborhood.
I originally purchased the trailer for the FJ project (help haul stuff, transport the rig to the trail) – I lucked out they both fit. Its a Featherlite bumper pull open car trailer, 14 ft model:

Lol at the illegal garage…I get the same thing. My NSX mechanic (factory trained and now the head of the Porsche workshop at the new dealership here!) does it in his spare time from home, usually 5-6 NSXs parked out front. His garage inside is ridiculous.
Oh yeah, we plan on lining up next season. He won’t chip his car (no need) but I will so that will be nice to compare.
Really no need to tune these cars in general. But I like it. Wonder what the RS7 will run… definitely 10s on 100 but how low???
