Thinking about selling my ‘08 S6

I’ve been weighing my options as I’ve fallen on some very bad luck and I wanted to put my feelers out to a community that treasures these cars instead of treating them as an unrepairable money pit.
I was wondering what you guys think the car is worth.

Issues: CEL for O2 sensors and misfire. German independent shop wanted to replace injectors, carbon clean and replace all but 1 o2 sensors (already replaced one 4K miles ago)
Also the car “overheats” at random. The only reason overheats is in quotes is that if the car is shut off for 60 seconds and I start it back up it is at normal operating temperature. I’m suspecting a coolant temp sensor.

The car has 80,000 miles and is super clean. I just 3 staged and ceramic coated the paint. Even with the CEL the car runs and drives great, I’ve just pulled it off the road to avoid the issues starting to snowball.

My only other option is to hang on to the car until I get it paid off and fix it when I have time and then sell it but by that time I don’t feel like I will want to get rid of it due to its depreciation in value.

I wish I could keep the thing but my job was eliminated and my salary is almost half what it was.

Assuming you’re in the USA? $5000-$7500 USD. The mileage isn’t too bad at 130,000kms.
Mechanical issues will tank resale. Get the car to a point where its reliable, will pass an inspection and no CEL then maybe you can get $10000-$12000 USD for it.

These prices are based on the last month searching for a decent S6 on the used market in Canada.

It’s looking like I’m gonna be stuck with this thing.

What do the service records look like? I just got a carbon clean, new spark plugs, new injectors, oil separator, gaskets replaced, etc just to avoid the 02s failing due to carbon issues.

Good luck man. Our prayers are with you and your S6.

The last owner didn’t keep any service records and the dealer I purchased the car from wouldn’t give me the service records of the services they had performed before the car was sold to me. First the said injectors and carbon cleaning, then I called back and they said they did the o2 sensors. I have all of my service records, but from the digging I have done it looks like as soon as the warranty ran out this car moved from dealer to dealer and there were no records of any repairs.

^^ normal for any car really.

I got an Audi dealer to print all the records for me. They just blacked out the personal info. I got some service there so that may be why they helped me out.
