why would this get a rise out of anyone? While I don’t think the 2.7T is a better motor if someone thinks it is great… I personally would think its a step backwards but I apprechate someone thinking this is something for them.
I think the rise comes from people with small egos thinking that because they put X or Y motor in a car that… that makes it the best motor in the world.
If it runs great if the owner loves it even better if anyone thinks that we have to love it thats where the issues begin. I think we all welcome it with open arms till attitude gets brought into it then things will quickly go south.

I just figured it would get a rise because it’s a puny v6 replacing a great sounding v8.
I wouldn’t personally swap a v8 out for a v6 unless it was blown.
I would do an avant b6 a4 2.7 swap though
why use the A4? I’d do the S4 (with a blown motor) before the A4. THe S4 is a bit more put together than the A4 with all the option boxes already ticked…including Recaro seats, better brakes, better suspension, better interior trim, better body (although UltraSport A4s look great), better wheels etc. You get quite a bit more for your money.
the trick is finding an s4 avant with a blown motor… hence why i would go with an a4.
If I was doing it, which i’m not, it would have to be an avant.
Probably use a 3.0 since the wiring would be easier, so i’ve heard.
Hey man I just had to antagonize you after you made a post with this title. Also, on a side note I drive a B7, and if your friend is anywhere to NC I’m up for a pull anytime. My car is by no means fast, but it’s coming along, and as many tuning issues/engine (plus the swap issues) as B5s have my odds seem decent. I enjoy swaps, but as hard as it is I would like to see an LS swapped into a B6/B7 S4…
lol…dude that is not what I was saying, you said your buddy’s swapped B6. I know my chances against a Tial 770 S4. Hopefully, if everything works out I will be supercharged within the next 6 months, then I wouldn’t hesitate.
yeah, that 770 car will see lots of track time, if it doesn’t run 10’s I’ll change my name on here to sally. It’s still on rs6 turbos right now, just waiting for the lazy owner to do some work.
Have you run it on the rs6 turbos yet? A 770 car or you become Sally? It’s on! I guess one of us should change to 770lover if you do get into the 10’s.
not me…my contention was always that it was the tuning holding them back…and that the turbos are suited for high boost high octane high speed travel…i.e. somewhat useless on a DD.
11.4 @ 133 is awesome. Reckon you can squeeze any more out of the RS6 setup? I only ask in the context of JHM’s weird RS6-R 10.8 run which was followed by silence lol. You getting closer to 10’s would wake them up!
Those super secret jhm turbos are in another league. I’d like to see a pass on a fully tuned car with no issues since that one had throttle body issues.
the rs6 car has 10’s in it as it sits… never got a clean pass on it.
if you notice the big 133 trap that speaks to the power it’s making.
the only thing we could do to get more power at this point without melting a turbo is to add some n20. which may be happening on the 770 setup ;D
