tial 770's in the 11's!

don’t know his address…just his SSN. I’ll pm you what I have.

Hey there m4s3 where is you be hailin from? I be from Rochester, MI is that you noggin rs6 car for sale on az? Nice to meet you over the interweb that Al Gore invented for us to use!

IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER…

Jibbs get off your ass and post your build stuff over here. I was enjoying your build on AZ but it seems to be a semi hate fest and a mix babble people.

Me from Atlanta, GA  No my car is not for sale and YES it is the world fastest RS6 b5 s4… lol hahah

fastest hwut?

Hey guys,

This is really encouraging. I’m having a Tial 770R setup built for me by Velocity Factor in Boca Raton, Florida. The motor is currently being rebuilt and blue printed. It had 100k and I figured rebuilding would be the smart thing to do. In any event, if anyone has any suggestions on how to get the best results, I’m all eyes…

Welcome to AR. Sounds like a fun car.

who is tuning it?

I lured him over from AZ with promises of an audience with jfonz

Thank you. I’m not sure who’s tuning it yet. I may just let Felipe at Velocity Factor make that decision. They’ve got a lot of experiencing building cars. http://www.velocityfactor.com

I’ve mentioned J-Fonz to them so when all is said and done, I may just go that route. Unless they’re overly confident that whatever they want to go with is the right way to go…

This is my first Audi so I’m doing as much reading/learning as I can…

Yes you did. It appears as if the J-Fonz tune is the way to go for Tials…

Will you ever hit the strip with the car? What are your goals for it.

Jfonz had great success with this one car, but it’s tough to say. EPL is supposed to be great (if you believe all the guys who hold up their dynos on audizine) but we haven’t seen any fast quarter mile times from EPL cars (in YEARS of them tuning B5 S4s) other than 1 mid 11s run on race gas by NYCVR6, who admittedly tweaked the tune to his liking rather than running the EPL tune as they wrote it.

1/4 mile times are nice because they show you what the car does in a few gears, going wot and from a launch. Pbox data is interesting as a measure of power a car makes, but usable power might be another story.

Would be nice to get some pbox data from JHM’s RS6R car and this new 770 car that went 11.1 @ 129

My goal is simply to have a fast sleeper/luxury sports sedan (it won’t be my first). I’ll definitely take it to the track and see what I can do in the quarter mile. I’ll also have somebody more experienced do the same as I don’t have a ton of experience. Luckily, I have a race track close by. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those people who’s always at the track trying to get every last ounce of power out of the car to achieve the best time. However, as mentioned, I’ll see what the car can do with the setup I’m getting and report back with the results - good or bad. I have no issue posting time slips and videos…

good stuff. Will be interesting to watch this develop!

I think if the track was closer to me I’d go a couple more times per year because it’s fun and I love seeing all the killer cars ripping it up. Mine is 50 minutes away though…

When all is said and done I’ll probably end up at the track more often than I plan on right now. But once I start breaking things I’ll slow down. I don’t see how anyone could go through the trouble of building up a car like this and have no desire to see what it can do. There are so few videos on YouTube as well. I plan on getting a few more on there…

lol you’ll fit in great here

Many of us ask the same question. Not only not seeing what they can do…but steadfastly REFUSING to test the car…it’s mindboggling.

Thanks. And I hear ya. I’ve read a lot (and seen videos) about how amazing the power of a Tial 770R S4 is up top - but I suppose I’ll have to experience first hand how it is down low. I really have to wonder how much I’m sacrificing for that really great top end power…

Lol

To maintain more than one build thread would probably be a little taxing. I’ll update the AZ one sometime soon with how I got to where I am (I’m just waiting on some resolution from some people, giving them an opportunity to make some things right before they get painted in a very bad light), and when I throw in some fuel pumps soon, I’ll post some newer performance updates. For the time being, I’m just daily driving the thang at strong stage 3 level, and kinda getting complacent ha. I’ll try to update soon though.

Said with respect to both J-Fonz, EPL, and whomever else, I don’t think there is necessarily a single best way to go with Tials IMO. With that I’m just saying weigh your options and choose what suits your goals/budget.

Three cheers for Zero Tolerence… Welcome and thanks more great members

I agree… Still I don’t think tials are all thet great. You see jfonz used E85 smartly and got decent results out of the turbos. Still what has to be looked at is the the tune and the fule have changed the prospective of whats possible for the averagaae everyday guy. The B5s seem to live off the thoughts that C16 and e85 are a close representation of what you would get on pump gas and the truth is there so far from what your standard guy on 91oct would get tits kinda a joke

Thank you i appreciate that. I agree, pick the tuner who best suites your needs/goals and has the best support. Not saying that’s me, just do your research
EPL can tune very well there is no question, i say this despite my personal differences with Tony.
Vast is another company that has extensive experience with the 2.7t (I know they have a bad customer service rap, but they still have tuned some of the baddest s4’s around.)
JHM holds the most records (I’m pretty sure anyway), and has consistently put down big power in whatever they do.
J-Fonz is so new it’s tough to tell, short track record but decent results imo.

i say this despite my personal differences with Tony

Do tell?

judeisnotobscure And did you know that AudiRevolution is a great place to put your videos?

Just thought I would put that out there
