WTF are you talking about, I have read through your posts on AZ, I am not sure what the hell is going on with your “build” you started by claiming a meth injected 770 car built motor, but since you have back pedaled and made excuses for your builder, changed your mind on turbo selection, asked if a built motor is necessary, back to claiming you want 600+ WHP. Your shit is hard to follow, and takes up a lot of space
I’m not, just confused as all hell. I am genuinely interested in your build, but it seems that in order to follow it, I have to be on here and AZ in multiple threads. Maybe I am missing the consolidated thread
I pretty must stopped posting on AZ. I’ll pop in every so often but I’ve been spending most of my spare time here.
Anyway. It’s not you. It’s me. I keep changing my mind AND direction but I’m firmly planted at this point in time. And believe me - I wasn’t making excuses for the builder. I’m not happy that they didn’t start last Monday but what can I do? I just wish they didn’t TELL me they would start last Monday. Unfortunately, the only way the owner communicates is via phone. And personally, I hate the phone. So I’m going to have to drop in one day and talk in person. The last time I talked to him on the phone he forgot what day he was starting the build. I’m afraid if I call him again he’s going to forget who I am altogether. Honestly, if the engine isn’t out of the car and/or almost ready to be sent out for blueprinting by Friday, I’m going to ask for the keys and tow it somewhere else.
Zero I never read antying yoi posted on AZ but. I like your style and Im going to make a bold prediction. your car is going to hustle and do well. I think its a good thing your motor guy took a little too long. You might have been stuck like many others with options with no testing and talking to a peple on a site with no acatual technical people left on it.
“Its always ok to change direction as long as your moving forward.” Give Countvohn the credit on that wquote and It think its a good one and makes good sense. Im excited to see more
Thank you, Chris! I’m definitely not your typical old guy. Yes, I’m geriatric. I get this funny feeling the car may get finished somewhere else. If that’s the case I would not hold it against the current builder. Being as busy as they are certainly is a testament to the amount of people who have confidence in their work. Like I said - I just get the feeling the next time I call, nothing is going to be done. Time will tell.
I am on my third fabricator for my build. I kept hearing excuses as to why we couldn’t do something, or excuses as to why the timeline was out the window, or my personal favorite was when my fabricator wouldn’t respond to phone/text/emails for almost a month.
My advice is do as much as you can yourself, for myself that meant fabricating the downpipe (tacked, not final welded) as well as everything motor related. The only things I have left to the fabricators has been 321ss welding, it is just out of league.
Communication is the most important thing, without that, the build is dead

If I could do the stuff myself, I would have. I can’t, unfortunately. And even if I could, I’d probably never find the time…
