To those with exhaust...

I’m getting ready to order my FI catback in the next couple weeks and I realized something while driving yesterday…

I really love the sound of this engine. Something about the combination of intake noise with the metallic whirl or the timing chains/gear.

So, the question I ask is… Can you still hear the intake/engine at all after the exhaust install?

I have pre-cat piggies currently, thinking about going Trexturk catless soon as well. I’m sure that catless will only make it louder and drown out the engine even more. And I know that the FI exhaust is very loud, just wondering if the addition of the exhaust is a sound tradeoff at all.

That sounds AMAZING Saki!

I would have thought that it would be way louder, especially catless and in a tunnel.

That being said, I would be curious how it sounds with the windows down in the plain old outside. So what is your opinion then? Still hear the engine? It’s really hard to tell from YouTube… I trust personal experience more.

kind of a weird question dude…essentially the sound of the motor is the exhaust note…lol

I will guarantee you that the FI system will not disappoint, the quality is unmatched and the fitment is one of the best I’ve seen on any car. FI isn’t just LOUD, it has a really good sound compared to other systems that I’ve heard and considering I have the FI CB I may be bias, but I feel that it sounds the best.

Haha, very true. I guess it’s the before sound of the motor, versus the after sound.

I know what he means. That’s why I posted that video. You can hear the mechanical whirring and stuff.

By the way that was pretty fucking loud lol. I only ever heard one b6/7 that was louder out of the thirty or so I heard. That was 91gl.

How was 91gl louder than FI + catless downpipes?

headers…

Headers and no mufflers… Just some resonators back there instead of mufflers.

just wanted to add my noise into the mix.
