Would you guys advice swapping to winters for the track this weekend? It seems to make sense with the temp we are due to get but it’s still quite early compared to most years.

I haven’t ordered it yet, still have to finalize storage and flooring before the lift goes in. Won’t be until the spring (at the earliest) now.
I’m only putting my winters on because the culprit wheel that thwarted my visit last time is bent out of shape, hence its inability to hold pressure. So I put all my winters on instead of just one lol.
cory - start another thread about your lift, I’d like to know where you ordered it from, who’s installing etc. Is it a maxjax? Plus pics when you have it sorted!

What was the temp like last year in that video? It’s going to be cloudy and only around 5 this weekend.

For those of you with experience is it even worth going to the strip at 5C on summer tires? I was hoping to try the 100oct APR tune but there’s no use having more power if you can’t get a good launch. My winter tire setup are only 225’s and weigh ~10lbs/corner more than my summers
that was it cory. 100 mph I believe it was at back then. Maybe 155 kmh in reality.
Makes sense because I believe the RS4 does 0-100 MPH in 11 seconds…and I launched at 21 seconds (beeped at 32)

I’ll go whenever. Saturday works well. But I’m pretty easy.
Saturday makes sense for you bango. Then you just have to come the rest of the way to Pearson. Better than than trekking east two days in a row.
Maybe we should make it Saturday?
The M3 and RS4 are good for both I think.

No S4, I’ll bring something different… Gotta see what I can scrounge up for rear tires though since there are only 255s on it now and it will shred them pretty easily.
Alright Saturday it is for me and saki at least then + RS4/M3. I’ll be there for opening. Weather looks the same both days although Friday looks a bit wet. Hopefully the track is dry for Sat. If it’s a no-go weather wise, then we’ll go Sunday as a backup.

81bear - if you go solo on Sunday, don’t forget a camera and get at least a pic of the car with the number if you’re breaking any records! Or at least a witness from another platform, sometimes there are cars with lxforums stickers.

With the beinefficientit of hindsight, the ideal track rental for a day might’ve been Sparta - the MI crowd could’ve come easily. Maybe something to think about for next year. I bet the Sparta owners would be too.
