Toronot Motorsports Park One last time (Nov 3 or 4)

did you mean Burloak/QEW?

STOP PRESS - their recorded message says they are CLOSED tomorrow (Sat) but open SUNDAY. 1-866-824-RACE (7223)

Sunday it is then! Not so good in terms of my driving time, but better for my weight - I have a full tank of 94 right now. Return trip to Pearson + going to Cayuga should have that sorted!

really? That sucks.

It would’ve sucked more to turn up to a closed dragstrip!

Sweet…limo rides for all on Sunday. That’ll ensure people know I really am a sandbagger.

thread jack* just got word Thompson is open Sat. and dry… As long as it doesn’t rain tonight I am good to go… Brother is in also as long as I can call him and wake him up… lol so will have vids… 11.66 or selling the car! lol j/k end thread jack

Oh I missed this late addition.

Saki, really, it’s all in fun, i figured this would lighten it up. Slow car vs sandbagger, or so we claimed. I figure you would have seen my email and laughed. Anyhow I’m sure it’ll be fun on Sunday.

hopefully it’s as ‘busy’ as it was November 14, 2010 when I went in my B7 S4

Do they always have race fuel for sale when the strip is open?

funny, primetime was all ‘Way to go!’ to rynurz…outwardly.

Inwardly, he was thinking “now…when can I see about getting back MY belt”

Call Ontario Competition Fuels in Streetsville to make sure they’ll be there.

I have some too, if anyone is desparate…

cory, be careful with race fuel at the track most carry leaded which is not so good for cats, o2’s, etc. Trust me I learned the hard way on my B5…

Saki, Oh I am happy to see the platform progress and more importantly others getting out there… I’m like you on the drag racing “these non drag cars”, unlike 99% of other owners, however I still want the title! lol Just the competitive nature… You should see my buddies and I on Friday’s in my basement playing table tennis, air hockey, dome hockey, darts, or vids… lol Again, love to compete but love winning more… lol

Jspazz,

If possible I’d like to buy some off you before we head down to the track and let the ride down help with calibration. ;D

Externally - Good Luck Bro!..

Internally - I hope he doesn’t drop the time to much lower… lol!

Seriously - I Hope and expect you to eclipse the record!

Bear,

I have a 5-gallon jug, use what you want, you can fill at my house and then re-fill my jug at the track.

Profuels/ OCF will be there, I just called. Mark II 110 octane is there for $3.35+HST / L. These guys have no leaded products at all, which is nice for us street cars, and you never have to question what was last used in their tanks.

Prime, I’m right there with you. I hate not being the fastest there. At ATCO it was great seeing that even my slowest times were faster than other’s fastest. Same feeling earlier this year on Good Friday. I was secretly happy Bear didn’t run race gas that day. At Mosport I run in the red group, get murdered on the straights by guys in GT3s, ZR1s, 997tts, heck last time even a Viper ACR…and every single one of them will have their mirrors filled with a silver NSX until they come back around to the same straight, just to remind them that they are slower than me. I don’t care about running in street trim to prove anything, so long as I can get to the track and back. Maybe this explains myself more to Saki. It’s the race that makes it fun for me. Hopefully next year, when I get my S4 back as MY car, I’ll be up there with you guys. Until then, including this Sunday, I’m slow.

Rained overnight a little and they can’t get the track dry enough… closed! sigh… They probably won’t run Sun. either… Next Sat. looks good weather wise, little warmer than today but better BP and humidity…

Good luck guys… looking forward to your numbers bear…

Prime, Cayuga beckons for you lol.

The tarmac was cold this morning. Winters ftw!

Jspazz I already said if you are just trying to be a drag race champion, go nuts. I.e. you only care about you and your car’s time. I don’t use the strip to feed my competitive nature. I user it to benchmark the car.

The Audis we own are semi luxurious Autobahn stormers and when comparing their many merits, we often look at acceleration performance. If you want to make comparisons about one car vs another, that’s great and we all do it. But do it in a form that is relevant to that car, not some one off, once in a year drag day version of itself that is never present in the wild. To me saying Particular platform is faster is pretty hollow if you are not always faster… only after a bunch of conditions that will just about never be met are followed.

Why not pull your interior then? I mean if you don’t care about benchmarking the car in a relevant form vs other cars in their form…and are just in it for competitive glory, its a no brainer. Its an easy tenth, maybe more. It is also free so you can use your dollars for other big shot, big spender items. I think the answer is because a stripped interior would feel like a hollow victory as well. If you look at times run with their seats pulled out with a kind of mental asterisk, because you know that is not reflecting reality, well now you understand how I feel about race gas times.

Now that we both understand each other, until your car goes low 11s @ 125+ on straight pump gas with full interior, it is slow to RS4 owners. We are not impressed.

My temp is 102 and I’m a little woozy…got a bit sick, hopefully I’ll be ok tomorrow. Either way Bear you can come and get the race gas.

Saki, you gotta admit, the whole competition aspect of it, during the event, is what makes it fun. You were very happy to beat the GIAC car on Good Friday, doesn’t matter what your times were relative to everyone else, or that he was on 91 and you 94. I’m sure that made your day just as much as that you were the fastest stock RS4, I was impressed as well. I really have nothing against the RS4 by the way, it’s beautiful, especially the fender flares, brakes, and purposeful demeanor, yes I’m just teasing you calling your car slow because comparisons keeps coming up on these B8 S4 forums. Just as I’m sure you calling me a sandbagger (which is the ultimate insult to me) was a joke too.

I’m sure tomorrow you’ll be just as happy if you are faster than my Benz. It’s more than likely, since I tried a few launches and I don’t think i’ll be anywhere near getting near a 2 sec 60’. I couple times in dyno mode, the transmission decoupled and I had to restart the car, so I’ll likely have to keep full or partial TC on. My guess is a high 12 at 114.

If you aren’t coming, I may not come given my present condition, but if you’re there, I’ll be there. I figured meeting up would be better for us than bickering on the forum about useless things, getting out to the track and having fun was very appealing to me. Let me know.

Hahahaha don’t get too sick on my account.

Of course it is fun but ass I said is I pulled my seats and ran race and went 12.50 I still don’t think I would tell that B8 guy in the south who 12.69 that the RS4 is faster. It would be a hollow win.

Racing the GIAC tuned 91 car was fun to beat on ET but he was running me down. That was a fun win though because he shit talked the hell out if me saying I would be eating his dust etc. (typical brave B8 talk, while knowing fuck all about the 4.2 cars lol) but I did it running fully stock, full weight, pump gas, as I do every day…so not sure its a relevant comparison to your race theory.

P.S. Primetime is laughing at Seinsmeld in the lulz forum in general discussion because he thinks his new B8.5 is as fast or faster than his GIAC b8 car. I believe him…We all saw it. I saw a b8 run 13.1 @ 106 in the summer…should be good for high twelves at 107 or so on a cool day. The GIAC 91 car ran a best of 12.89@109 on Easter.
