on my second last run, I went with jspazz, and he ran his best of the day…fucking figures :D…to pip me by 2 hundredths of a second. It was very close the whole way and I was just a hair ahead due to .02 reaction time.

What is funny, is I consider that your win. You may consider it my win, but getting out-and-out treed is still a loss for me, in my books.
Goes to show that even if you RT 0.167, you will lose to the guy with the 0.029 RT. For someone who doesn’t bracket race, that’s pretty darn good, Saki - you did it when it counted.
All things considered, with a reasonable burnout on 275s, it launches ok - I actually almost get to simply mash it, B8 S4-style. But not even trapping 110 shows some serious heat soak issues. Might need to separate those intercoolers from the coolant system, just like the APR CPS.

I had a few really good reaction times today. Not sure why…I just start revving the car to launch RPMs once I see the lights start moving. I am looking at the tach, not the lights. I had a 0.03, and that 0.02 as well as a 0.05 today.
Good thing it didn’t happen the other way around otherwise we’d still be arguing about who was faster and the purpose of going to the drag strip!
I almost forgot. A huge thanks to Bear for, once again, letting me have a couple kicks at the cat and allowing me to run a couple 11.8s in his car. For me, this will be a big motivation for next year.
I would have let you run in the S600, but it’s a little finicky to keep the temps down, get into dyno mode, burn out, etc - I had it at the limit of boilover by the time I launched. What I figure is next time, I’ll let you do a session in the NSX at the road course. Walls and curbs aside, it’s practically bulletproof, and I think you’ll like that better anyway than trying a slower car down the strip.
I was car 4592. 12.63@113.96 with a 1.91 60ft was my best time. Disappointed I blew my MAF 'cause as the day was progressing, the track seemed to be getting faster. It was like every go, you guys were shaving off 0.05 to 0.1 off your times (at least bear and mistro seemed to). Maybe it was a traction thing?
Anyway, need a new MAF now…

Another fuck load of data from today’s outing. Are there any other Audi communities that gets this number of people out in one go? Star performances from Mistro, Axel and 81bear. Disappointment of the day was my lack of ride (tech objected, but maybe we should’ve tried to sneak it in) in the 12-sec limo.

It’s not nice to make fun of a persons car. I’m pretty sure they had just as much fun as you in a car that probably cost 1 tenth of what yours cost. If you want to laugh at something, maybe you should reflect on the fact that even though you ran less than 5Opercent faster, you did it with a car that probably makes 3 times the power.
Who’s making fun? I mentioned the 20 seconds because that’s probably why they let them run with all those people vs 12 seconds meaning everyone would have had to have helmets.
I’m quite sure they had fun. I gave them a thumbs up when I lined up next to them and also had a nice chat with afterwards too about a nice fast red civic they also brought down.

yeah FAW is just sticking up for those kids when nobody said anything against them other than the colour of their car. Great point though about his supposed 600 whp car that ran 14 lol. The lowly ‘fail’ B7 Rs4 driven by mistro with no tune, stock exhaust and just precats gutted, ran 12.4 @ 113 MPH yesterday. He might make 335 whp if he’s lucky.
Anyway, back to the business at hand. Pretty awesome results for a bunch of guys in various platforms, be they B6, B7, B8 S4s or B7 RS4. One of those days where the stars aligned for power, but traction proved an elusive mistress.
I don’t know where you’re from but round these parts, people have something called a sense of humour. Cayuga often has spectators paying the extra $20 to run their car. Usually for fun and laughs all round. And the drivers of those cars are usually the first to take the piss out of themselves.
