Track Day Videos

Decided to go for a track day at Shannonville… my first time taking the RS4 to the track. Pretty nice experience overall. It wasn’t a drag event but don’t stone me for it :wink:

I didn’t want to over drive the car too much since I’m still on stock pads, fluids and tires, but I was pleasantly surprised how well the brakes and brake fluid held up. Only a slight hint of spongyness after the event which went away after bleeding them.

The stock all seasons weren’t helping much so I really want to get out there again once these wear out and I switch to a set of summer performance tires.

There was a B8 S4 out there too but I didn’t run into him on the track.

good stuff. The flyby vid was pretty neat. Watch the clutch…seems like you’re accelerating before you’re off the clutch and slipping it on quite a few gear changes.

Have you noticed it get sticky at all? i.e. won’t come all the way up? Gets a little stiff?

I only shifted between 2nd and 3rd before the back straight and the front pit straight. I did notice it come up a bit slower. The most obvious one was in the second video around 1:13: http://youtu.be/fgOAtd8dO9E?t=1m13s

Definately slipped the clutch quite a bit afterwards there trying to compensate for it :frowning:

It seemed to only happen during upshifts after hard acceleration though. I didn’t notice it at all during downshifts. It never ever got fully stuck to the floor, just was slow coming back up.

I’ve heard this has something to do with some pinched hose or something? I remember it happened to Axel on the highway during one of the cruises, except his got fully stuck and he had to pull it up by hand.

I also noticed that during hard accelerations from first gear, it gets really hard to move the shifter into second until the RPMs drop off down to say 6.5k ???
