track times

ok so I’m still at the track waiting to do some more runs but so far here are my first two runs. the car has 1/4 tank of pump gas. full weight including spare.

the 12.4 was my first run. second run the car boged on the launch pretty hard. hopefully the next two will be a bit better. I’m spinning a fair amount on the launch too. luckily tho clutch slipping is minimal today. on the first run I slipped a little bit into second

will update as I get more times

good stuff richi. Looked like a decent launch on the first one. MPH is very strong. Means you’re probably giving up some time on your shifts. Keep the car safe, and have fun out there.

So far I’ve run a 12.19 @ 119 & 12.25 @ 116. Looks like we’ll get another pass in a few minutes.

Very nice times guys!

How is the track prep? TMP was terrible yesterday, tires squealed like crazy off the launch.

^^^probably pretty good. Atco is pretty bigtime busy. They have a big event just about every weekend that it doesn’t snow.

whoa, 12.19 @ 119 is pretty serious. What’s the modlist on your car these days?

These are my baselines. I have a corsa sport exhaust. The stock exhaust is so weak that I couldn’t wait to swap it out.

My last run was 12.14 @ 115.

Funny cause my 119 run has a 2.08 60 foot. My last run was 1.83.

My first run was really good but I goofed the launch. The next two runs I launched better but the tyranny hung shifting into 3rd. Apparantly it’s pretty common with the ctsv so you dsg guys don’t feel so bad. The other ctsv’s there have all had it happen. Pcm tune will fix it.

Anyway other v’s ran 11.2 at 124, 12.02 at 117 and 10.6 at 134. O_o

that car is just nuts.

shows how tough it is to corral though, with the wide variations in MPH. on the 119 run were you spinning to the 330 foot or something?

how’s richie doing? track busy?

spoke to soon about the clutch… my reaction time was great but the clutch just wasn’t having it. it slipped like there was no tomorrow. i ran a 13.11@113.1 with a 2.21 60’ the clutch glazed like crazy, revs were climbing but the car just wasn’t going anywhere and then it caught and went… oh well 12.4 will have to be my best for now. ill try to sneak out to englishtown next week maybe, we’ll see. ill take 12.4 for my first time down the track in this car

Track was busy and they got a late start. It was prepped well and the weather was perfect.

On the 119 run I barely did a burn out and I got the least wheel spin on launch.

This guy was stock for his first run then swapped out for an aftermarket intake. He gained 2mph and .18 on his second run. 12.2 @ 115 vs 12.02 @ 117 Not sure how much you can really attribute to the intake but feels good to justify a purchase nonetheless.

OMG 10.6 on streets? That’s retarded. Car is badass. Pump gas?

that other guy…did you guys make fun of him for rocking track wheels? It’s a cadillac. Go street already! That’s the beauty of these cars (all of these Audis, Cadillac V cars, BMWs, AMG cars etc.)…that they can be badass then roll home in luxury. I’m going to start a ‘no 100+, no slicks’ club.

Dude was using an extra pair of stock wheels with drag radials on them. I had to take a closer look. Drag tires are pretty common with these guys. Once you add more than 50-70hp it’s hard to get gains on street tires at the strip.

He was on pump but had a Snow meth kit. He’s totally not allowed in your club.

Nice job guys… Glad you both got out…

Rich, I bet the car will run much better with a upgraded clutch so you can launch harder… Was hoping to see a higher trap though… makes me wonder how much ther headers would really help my times?

Matt, great times for your car man… looiking forward to seeing your progress as I know you are going to do more mods… The dude with the V was back at Thompson this weekend… He finally has the car dialed in and ran a 11.2x I have it on vid and will post it later so you can check it out… he and I talked quite a bit and he was just happy his car was running good… He ran 11.1 at Norwalk the weekend before… I really needed to hit Norwalk this year as it is a much better track at a lower elevation… I still am kicking myself for not going there at least once this year… Oh well…

Thanks.

Over the winter I’m going to take my car up to East Coast Supercharging for an upper pulley, tune, transmission tune, 160 thermostat, CAI w/custom air duct, and spark plugs. It’s their stage 2 setup without the headers. Adding headers doubles the price of the package and is only worth 25-30whp more. I can’t justify putting headers on a leased car. Without the headers I should gain about 70whp.

When the time comes around I’ll create a thread in the general discussion sub forum here. I don’t think anyone will mind that it’s not Audi content.

I was hoping for better results as well but considering I was on pump gas it wasn’t a bad trap compared to other cars on pump, had I not slipped into second I’m sure I would’ve broken over 115. on race gas I’m sure they would be good for a couple more mph. I want to get out to Englishtown next Sunday though and then I’ll do my clutch. we’ll see tho it was my first time to the strip with this car I need to work on my 60’

That will be awesome dude!

You should add a nice set of wheels with fat@ss tires to the winter list! I think traction is the thing that’s holding you back more than anything at this point!

yeah richi, lost in all of the euphoria of the great times today is that you posted a really solid trap speed for a pump gas B8 S4. When the clutch is stronger you’ll be able to launch a bit harder and to shift a bit harder too. Should shave a ton of ET off.

The ‘first B8 in the 11s on pump gas’ title is still up for grabs…so grab it!

Good point Rich… with race gas you would definetly p/u some mph… I overlooked that… I guess until someone puts the headers on a DSG car I won’t know if it helps me and by how much… Maybe I’ll be the guinea pig! LOL

Richi get the clutch and try to hit the strip when you can do some hotlaps, I find it helps quite a bit.
