Looks like I need to replace my transmission, is there any I can use not from an rs5? That would work out of another model?

Not in N. America, only from an RS5. If you are in Europe you can use a B8/B8.5 RS4 or RS5. Of course a '14~'15 MY tranny is preferred to get the latest Mechatronic board. Also, the tranny will need to be coded by a dealer or a independent with ODIS (can’t be done with VCDS or any other off the shelf). You will be able to read the transmission and codes but it will be in Safe Mode (won’t go into gear) until it is coded to your VIN.
